John Bandstra Memorial# 74177249
Hi

I have added a picture of John's tombstone to his memorial page. You might consider removing your picture of the grave marker.

Regards, Ron

Once again Josh, I gotta say thanks a bunch. Great picture and I'm going to remove the one I had posted. We need more people with a good eye for picture taking out there.

Hi

Would you please add your photo of Gertrude Nieuwendorp's tombstone in Graceland Cemetery at Pella, Iowa to her daughter's Page that I just entered. Lena's memorial number is 127437417

Daniel Dedrick
I done a search for U.S. Military Stone Applications and found none issued or filed for Daniel Dedrick. All Dedricks in Walnut Ridge appear to be related. It is odd that there is no stone for Daniel as you can see from the gravestones that this appears to have been a wealthy family.

Your pics are such a blessing documenting these relatives I could NOT ask for more. Family, education, employment certainly take precedence and I totally understand. Best wishes, Bill

Thanks The Vanderwiels are more or less a Brickwall.
The vanderwiels in Pella must be related, but none of them ever responded to my emails :-)

The Vanderwiels I'm researching migrated in 1867 to Otley: http://www.werelate.org/wiki/Family:Rentje_Van_der_Wiel_and_Trijntje_Beiboer_%281%29

RE: Jacob De Ronde
Josh,
Thanks for the posts of pictures for this individual and his wife. I'm having problems with others (De Ronde) who I'm told are also in the cemetery. Do you know of a contact person there with a phone number or are the records published? Just looking at your picture I see many De Ronde graves around the one you took. I very well might have them already but it begs the question.

RE: Payne @ Oakwood (Pella, Iowa)
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you. I was beginning to think there was nobody in the area to take photos since they hadn't been claimed. Stay out of the storm and do it when you can. I appreciate it so much.
Also thank you for explaining the lot numbers and section number.

RE: P.S.
Yes, I have seen the Judge Merriweather T. Green name, but don't believe him to be related to my Greens in any way.

My great grandfather was Joseph Green 1857-1928
My great great grandfather was Ruben Broyles Green 1817-1913

Both are buried in Bethel Cemetery in Ray County, just south of Polo, Missouri.

RE: Thomas & Jennie Beal
I think you can get a metal marker that does stake in the ground not sure who sells them but you might start with Deb at Oakdale she knows a lot about the business. I actually bought a stone for a relative in Des Moines, Iowa... Her husband was lynched wrongly in 1884 and she was left with 5 little children. In 1935 the real killer confessed to his crime but his wife who I got the stone for died in 1934. It was just something I had to do for her. In fact, I saw what your talking about at Oakdale so I will go take a photo send it to you and then you can talk to Deb about it.

I thank you for looking for her grave, even though Iowa Gen Web Project has no record of her or her husband as being here, her obituary states this is where she is buried along with her husband. I thank you for your time spent looking for the grave.

I can get that for you. I have been to their grave sites many times even doubting myself but there are no stones. Maybe they broke but from what I see around them no damage, no broken trees, no reason the stones are gone.

Thanks for traipsing around Bulwada for me and the relatives. I know you usually don't leave Oak Wood. Hope it wasn't too overgrown. As always, much appreciated.

Buwalda stones
Hello Joshua,

Many, many thanks, for the two photo's of one of the first Buwalda settlers in America: Abraham Buwalda & Aaltje Havinga. They became the ancestors of hundreds of Buwalda's, still living today in the USA.

Again, many thanx, to see these old stones for the first time, via the internet.

Greetings,

André A. Buwalda

Good morning, Joshua,

I can't thank you enough for the great photo of his headstone. Pella is my "home town" in that my parents were at Central when I was born. I was going to try to find his grave on my next trip, but you have helped me out greatly, and I appreciate it.
