Frederick Bierlein at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial
I see you did a memorial page for my dad, Frederick Bierlein. You have his parents wrong, they are not Ann and Anton, but Ottomar and Doris Chase Bierlein. If you have questions my email is
Thanks for all your hard work, that is a huge undertaking.

RE: Hillcrest Lawn Memorial
Do you want me to "public message? it? If not send me your e-mail at and I will e-mail it to you. I am hoping since you have access to the records you might have better luck with this than I did.

Hillcrest Lawn Memorial
I don't know if you are back in Montana and working on the Mausoleum again or not. I have a list of 22 names that are shown as being entombed there that I am pretty sure aren't there. Most of the obituaries say the service in as Hillcrest Chapel so people just presume they are entombed there. I have tried to tell several of them that that isn't the case but they don't pay any attention. If you are interested in the list and want to check to see if they are actually there, let me know and I will send it to you.

Thank you for trying to find the graves of Jo Ann & Edward Forslund , you had indicated you might be able to find copies of there obits, I do not know if this would give any info on the burial, seems like Highland cemetery has a complicated system with a number of unmarked graves, Her Mother Isabel Malinda Myers is buried there (50867563- Plot Section C, I would so appreciate your help on the obits, I will hold off on deleting the cemetery info for awhile.
Thank you again for your help

Thank you for you help, although too bad to hear the office does not have a record of his burial there. I've passed along the info to the manager of the memorial.

Hillcrest Mausoleum
I am very impressed with the work you have done on Hillcrest. That must have been quite a job.
I don't know if you are familiar with the work of Rob Minteer. He posted lots of memorials in Cascade county using lists he found on-line. These lists don't contain a lot of info and also contain a lot of incorrect info. For instance, if they were in doubt about the spelling of a name they posted it in any possible way. I have spent the last few years working with Rob trying to get rid of as many of the duplicates and wrong spellings as possible and to add at least death dates. He has been pretty easy to work with.
I recently started working on Hillcrest. I was surprised to see 280 memorials without markers when I started. I guess I didn't realize you could be entombed there without a marker. I have asked him to delete quite a few incorrect spellings which he has done. I noticed yesterday that for some reason instead of deleting his incorrect spelling he changed the spellings to reflect the same spelling as your memorial. Then you were posting your photos to his memorials. For this I apologize to you. He has never taken that approach before.
I am not done with Hillcrest but am leaving town until the end of the year so I wanted you to know what is going on.
I also wanted to point out to you that I have noticed a lot of more current memorials being posted to Hillcrest just because it says in the obit that the memorial service will be at Hillcrest. I have notified quite a few people that I don't think their memorial belongs in Hillcrest because it does not say they are being entombed there and that Schnider just uses their chapel for their services. Of course, most of them have just ignored me.
It appears you had access to the records when you were photoing the mausoleum. Maybe if you contact these people and tell them that the name doesn't show up in the records they will listen to you.
It is pretty easy to pick them out. If you ask for a list of memorials with no photo you can see the more recent postings. The postings I made specifically said they were being entombed at Hillcrest but I have yet to find one done by anyone else that actually says that.
I don't know if you are interested in trying to get these deleted but thought I would let you know.
Again, great job on Hillcrest!

Shirley, I doubt you picked up the wrong date, as I notice her bronze marker also reflects 1926. If you find out anything different, I would appreciate it if you shared it with me. For now I will simply add a note on my research page for her indicating where you extracted the data. I suspect she was born in 1927 and was too young to get a SS#, so simply added a year to her age, and this stayed with her. As far as her place of birth, I cannot imagine where or how Kansas City came into play. Three siblings were born in Iowa and one in the middle was born in Colorado, so KS is certainly possible. Thank you for your response.

Request for transfer of Memorial #145309182
Thank you so much for posting this entry! I have been searching for it for quite a while.

This grave is of my beloved aunt, who is SO very missed! She was a wonderful person and her loss to cancer is still deeply felt even years later.

I created an entry for her so I could link her up to the rest of the family, which I would delete after this one is updated. You can see it here:

Marchie Lou "Sis" Buell Marcotte

I would greatly appreciate a transfer of management to my care.

Thank you in advance!

I don't get back home (Cascade) very often and when I do, there doesn't seem to be time to "visit" those relatives. So, I do appreciate getting the photos.

Thanks. The obit says husband Louie died in 1956. It doesn't say where and I don't see him in Find A Grave.

Cecil Canfield - 2 of em for same person
How about we move everything, picture and all to the cemetery where they are really buried. Would hate to have somebody in the future go to the wrong cemetery and try and find them. I'd be a little upset if it was me.

It makes me wonder how his record got posted to the wrong cemetery in the first place but since we found (really you) the mistake and can fix it, might as well do it now.

Good show!

I noticed you said he was your g-grandfather. May I ask how you are related?

Jack Brooks is my g-g grandfather through his oldest child, Henry Marshal Brooks.

Would love to correspond with you about the Brooks line.

Al D. & Margaret C. Beaudry photos.
Thanks so much for taking and adding the photos of the graves of Al D. & Margaret C. Beaudry who are buried in Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Great Falls, Montana. My family records have them buried at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial (cemetery) so I have no idea how they got listed in the wrong cemetery. Sorry for the confusion.

Again thanks for letting me know you added the photo so I could correct my mistakes. Have a nice day, Farm Girl from MO.

Everett White
Thanks. I made a note on my memorial that he was moved. The records of Manchester are pretty bad and they don't seem to have any record of who was moved or where they were moved to. Because of the flood a lot of burials were moved and as far as I know the only record of any of this is what we have been keeping on Find A Grave. Would you please make your memorial and make a note that he was moved from Manchester.
Thanks for pointing this out.
