Lucy Wilhelmina Nicol (Rocklin Cemetery)
Toy, I was looking for the parents of Little Lucy buried at Rocklin Cemetery and located them as they were memorials you created. Lucy must have been buried at Rocklin, although I see her name on the stone where her parents were buried. If you would like a transfer of Lucy's memorial, I would be happy to transfer to you.

I did not find a stone for Nancy but there were 2 stones for Nehemiah in 2 different locations in the cemetery. Maybe Nancy is actually in one of these graves?

I don't know. You would have to ask Treva who posted the picture. She did not do this cemetery, but she has compiled several cemetery books in Lawrence county.

I have a cemetery book on the Baptist cemetery in Springville (1 mile from where I live) that has all the stones and any info they were abel to dig up. It has a small obit that was taken out of the newspaper. They have he married Nancy Cuppy, but don't say where they got the info. There is no Nancy Cuppy Bridwell listed in the book and I did not find any when I took my pictures of the stones.

Sorry to hear about your illness. My thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time. I look forward to your email. Let me know if there is anything more I can do. I enjoy sharing information and I know how very important it is to put the correct information out there. Sometimes all it takes is one little tidbit to lead someone to a long lost relative or finding information on an ancestor for their research.

RE: SNOW
Hi Toy, I just came from the Montrose and there is no record of burial of Levi Snow in their books or on their maps. He must have been buried somewhere else. Or maybe he was buried there early enough that when the dam came thru at Keokuk the cemetery the body was not moved and the water covered his burial spot and stone. This cemetery in the old part is very much a slough, almost a bayou and has flooded very often. While the rest of the cemetery is almost pastural for being perfect, this part is not. When I asked if there was a book for those who were buried underwater I was told there had been a lean to attached to a shed which burned with all records in it. I'm sorry. Here's hoping he is buried elsewhere.

There is a photo posted under Nicholas Snow that is attributed to you and is labeled Cove Burying Ground, do you know where this photo was taken, it is not of the Cove Burying Ground in Eastham, MA. I live 1/2 mile from that cemetery, there was an old meeting house there, but that is long gone. Also, there are too many stones shown.

RE: Mary Blixt photo
Hi Toy,

Yes, Mary is buried next to Alfred. I went back today to check if a marker had been covered up over time but there isn't any other marker close to him.

I found with some of my relatives that after the last parent passes the children have great intentions of adding a marker but life goes so fast it's just overlooked.

Good luck hope you make it to Mountain View Cemetery sometime. It is a beautiful cemetery.

I checked with the office today & they said Mary did not have a grave marker. They were going by what was posted on their computer.

If you know differently, I can press them further.

RE: Capt. Henry Johnson
There is a story once told by a couple of locals that Henry's coffin was floating in the 1927 flood waters along Lake Washington and that these gentlemen snagged it and brought it to shore. Supposedly they opened it and Henry looked very well, all things considered. They reburied him in Greenfield Cemetery and I know the pile of bricks under which he is supposed to be buried. I first heard this story from a researcher-friend of mine who said he heard it from the old gentlemen-coffin-snaggers themselves. My researcher friend is very credible, so if he heard it first hand, then I think it's very possible. I wish I knew absolutely. Our local history group now does a cemetery tour, and I would love to have enough assurance to add Henry to the list of stories. Any help from any descendants would be greatly appreciated. You can see our project on Facebook at Greenfield Cemetery Candlelight Tour. Thanks!

re: Anna Bridge
Happy New Year, Toy! If you'd like, I can transfer Anna Bridge's memorial to you. I evidently created memorials for Anna and about 9 other Bridges who are in the same cemetery. I'm not related to them - I either went camera crazy in the cemetery or else I fulfilled a photo request for one and just started taking pictures of the others. I can transfer the other Bridges to you as well if you are interested. Since I'm not related to them, I'd be more than happy to transfer the memorials to someone who is.

Can you post where this photo was taken? If it is in England or Virginia?
