Me again... There are two entries at Oakwood with no last names; 78814767 and 78814721 (the last name is obscured in the photo). I came across the marker, photographed it and uploaded it to the two records. It shows the name as Naylor. If you could update your records it would be great. Please let me know if you would prefer that I delete the photos. Thanks, Paul

77007706 and 82774297 are duplicates. They are both yours but 77007706 has a letter dropped from the last name. Cheers, Paul

You posted 2 pics to this Graveyard. They do not appear to belong here. There are a number of Kilbrides [ie church of St Bride] in Scotland. These pics appears to belong to another of these. Could you please confirm where you were when you took the pics.

Looks like we share the same family and friends based on the updates you are sending. My mother's family was in Macomb (South Woods Road, Pierce's Corners) as far back as 1817 and some are still there today. Sorry I hadn't gotten the memorials updated with good biographies etc. I've been working to get all my photos loaded for the last 5 years and still only have half (100K+) done. You've convinced me to switch over to do some bios instead. I did Don Bellinger last night and am working the others when I can (I work full time, so its when I have a spare minute). My family is connected to Washburn, Downing, Day, and just about every other name in the Macomb area (though we never married into the Raven's for some reason...they just were friends and neighbors).

|SleepingDog||Your Crews Line|
That is some very interesting information that you sent. I have Tar River Jimmy Crews in my Family Tree Maker, but not because he was a direct relative that I know of. It is from being connected somehow.
But your Granville county ancestors must have some kind of tie to my Halifax Va. Crews ancestors. Those counties are right next to each other I believe. In my case, I have never been able to get back past my 4th gr-grandfather, Ephraim Crews. His father was supposedly a James Crews, but we can't seem to figure out exactly which James Crews or who his wife was.
I have also heard that our Crews ancestors originally came from the Cheshire area in England. I'd give anything if I could get back to earlier generations on them.
You are right about the descendants of Charles Edward and Susannah Marshall Crews having eight children. But Millie Ann Crews was left out. She and her sister, Mary Ellen Crews both married Styers brothers.

|SleepingDog||Elizabeth Crews Waggoner|
Thank you for the additional information, which I have added to Elizabeth's entry.
I didn't realize at the time that her maiden name was Crews.
She has to be one of my relatives somehow as I'm descended from both Crews and Waggoners. My gr-gr-gr grandmother was Milly Waggoner, who was married to Thomas Riley Marshall. Their daughter Susannah Marshall married Charles Edward Crews--my gr-gr grandparents.
That was very interesting information.

|Evelyn Jepson||RE: John William Lodge #96459165|
I am interested in getting names of men that fought in The Green Howards. I had a distant step-cousin whom fought with them. He is now passed, but he was in the Dunkirk campaign, and then his unit was put in the North Africa campaign. His tank hit a mine, and he had severe burns from it. His step-brother, Peter said that there were years of plastic surgery needed to give him any sort of life. He also stated that the man that went into the army was not the man that returned. He was a lad when his mother married Peter's father, and refused to take the step-fathers name, keeping his own birth fathers name. Mills. And so, am trying to find any other Green Howards in any or all records, to honor their graves.

|SheWalksTheseHills||RE: Maurice Bazile and GD Renee|
The graveyard where Maurice Bazile is buried is listed on Find a Grave as the "Maurice Bazile Burial Ground" in Hanover, near Studley Rd. (just off 301)
If you go to the cemetery search feature on F.a.G. and search the listed graveyards in Hanover you'll find it. Sorry the pasted link didn't work!
I too am almost constantly researching my Hanover connection- it's almost an obsession! :-)
If you live in or near Ashland and want to visit the graveyard, my husband and I will be glad to meet you and show you where it is. The small brick enclosure is right in the front yard of a private home, but they have been very kind and allowed us to park in their driveway to visit the graveyard.
All the best,

You have placed a memorial to Maurice Bazile (1791-1855) in the graveyard of Big Rock Cemetery. He is not buried there, he is buried many miles to the south east near Studley Road in Mechanicsville, Va.
He's a link to his grave memorial that I placed on Find a Grave in 2007 http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=Bazile&GSmid=46847797&GRid=19284324&
Over 9 years ago, I was part of the team of family members who cleaned the grave enclosure of Maurice Bazile and uncovered his tombstone- the photo is on his memorial.
In that small brick enclosure, there are only two graves- Maurice's and his little granddaughter, Renee. We could find no stone for the baby, but family Bible records indicate that she was buried with her grandfather.
Are you related to the Baziles? I'm always on the look out for cousins!

|Melvin L. Halterman||AARON E. REECHER|
Hi Ken, I discovered today that Aaron E. Reecher (82841798) isn't buried with his first wife Nettie at Funkstown cemetery, he's actually buried with his second wife Alice at Rest Haven cemetery. I think we should delete the photo of his cemetery marker on his memorial but leaving it intact for Nettie and his son Vernon. Let me know what you think. Mel
