Edna Braggs
Hello, Is Edna the mother to a James Braggs that worked for McDonnell Douglas in the 80/90's? James was my direct supervisor and after McDonnell Douglas downsized, I lost contact with him, I know James lived in the San Bernardino area at one time, Thank You, Bobby Pierson

RE: Amod Carroll
You're welcome. It's just that sometimes, you know, a particular memorial will stick in my head, and Amod's was one of them. As I was passing by, I just couldn't resist the urge to stop one more time and see if his name had been added. I'm just glad that it was done.

Take care,

Hi Marsha! I was going to add a brand new photo, showing that Amod's name was finally added to the headstone, and I see that you already got one! I'm glad that his name was added and that you are aware of it. I just happened to be passing by his burial site when I thought I would give it one more look . . . .

Take care,

RE: Sarah Lucinda White Collier
Hi Marsha,

We are indeed related. Sarah's son Cephus Taylor Collier was married twice. His son Willian Fred Collier was my grandfather. He was the first child by the first marriage. I assume Fred's mother died after childbirth and left Cephus with four Children to raise. He the married Eva and they produced many children. Fred never knew his mother for Eva was the only mother he ever knew.

Bell has been meantioned by my father many times. Although I am still researching all the Colliers I still need to fill in the blanks.

I would be happy to share information with you and hopefully exchange information we are both missing.

My nephew, Robert Collier married into your line of Colliers. They joked about being related. However it was only when I sent my info
to him that they discovered that they both had the same great-grand father, Cephus Taylor Collier. If I remember correctly Chester Medera Collier and Florence Cattlet represent Trish's side of the family. Now I have made contact with some of my Collier family in OK via face book and wish to bring current the families as much as I can. If you will search you will vind my "Collier's through the years," you can trace the line.

My email is:

I hope to hear from you soon.

Another update re Amod:
I took another look today, and the bronzer has placed a marker, however it only has Ezzard's name on it, and not Amod's. Maybe his name will be added in the future. I have another nice area photo I can add, which is of the entrance to the Alta Plot, with an archway. I also have a photo of the marker with Ezzard's name, and I have placed these photos on Ezzard's memorial.

I sure wish I could report something more positive. I'll check back in another 60 days or so, and if I find anything different, I'll let you know.

Take care,

Follow-up re Amod Carroll
Hi Marsha. I was at the cemetery yesterday and asked about a permanent marker for Amod's grave, and was told that there wasn't one on order. I don't understand this, as it looks in the photo as if this is a permanent marker that just needs to have nameplates bolted onto it. For whatever the reason, it seems that the family has not ordered one. I was sure hoping to come back to Mod's gravesite and find a new marker there, but I guess that is not going to happen.

Just thought I'd let you know that I tried again.

Best regards,

RE: Presley, Janis Leigh
I wish I had good news for you. I checked the Remembrance section and it appears that Janis has no headstone. She is laid to rest in a beautiful and peaceful part of Forest Lawn.
I hope I have been of some help to you.

Amod Carroll
Hi again, Marsha! Another fulfilled photo request for you but I'm sorry to report that this one does not have a marker, yet. It has been lifted off and taken to the bronzer to have his name added to the marker. He is buried with Ezzard Carroll.

I have included a photo of the area and as you can see, someone has recently left flowers. The other photo I have added is that of the temporary marker from the mortuary. I will replace this with a photo of the actual marker when it gets placed. Unfortunatley, I get too many like this to follow up on, of if you could please contact the cemetery to find out, and then let me now, I will go back and get a photo of the actual marker.

Take Care,

Walter Achen (again)
Sorry for taking up more space. There is another memorial with similar dates in Minnesota:

I wonder where he is actually buried!

Walter Achen picture
Hi Marsha-

I went to take a picture of the headstone for Walter Achen. I didn't find it. I did find stones for Sarah Achen and Charles G. Achen (I took pictures and created memorials for them, but the pictures are lousy - I'll go back and retake them at a different time of day). If you are related to this family, do you know if they are his parents? There are no stones next to them and quite a bit of space, so I'm wondering if he is their son and was buried next to them, but no stone was put up.

If you do happen to know where Walter is buried, I am happy to go back and take a picture of his stone if there is one in a different location. I didn't "unclaim" the picture yet - just in case you happen to know anything about his family or his location.

P.S. I didn't find him in the index of the Lakeside Cemetery transcription either. I have the index from the 1980's version. I believe there is a more recent version I can check next week, but I'm not sure he would be in there if he wasn't in the earlier one.

Hello Again...
Hello Marsha... My family moved to Redondo Beach in 1967 and my mother worked at May Co. at the South Bay Center for the next 10 years. I loved the old South Bay Center as it was. It was very charming. I was there until I went into the Air Force in 1969. Our house was on Harriman Lane near Flagler. The house is long gone now. Thanks for sharing your story. Ironically, I hope to be in Prescott directing my next film. You do great work. Cheers!

RE: Pacific Crest Cemetary Photo
Hi Marsha... I submitted that photo 7 years ago because my grandmother is buried there. The photo doesn't have ocean back there. It's actually blue sky and telephone lines going across the sky so it looks like ocean... but if you click on the photo and look at the large version, you will see the telephone lines more clearly. I believe in the 7 years since I submitted the photo, the telephone lines may have been taken down by now. This is the oldest corner of the cemetery. If you still don't think this photo looks like the cemetery now, you have to write to findagrave to have it removed because I can no longer remove it myself. This is a fairly old photo so it may not be relevant anymore. Thanks for writing! It's a beautiful place.

Transfers completed. In the future please use the edit tab on the grave site (upper left) to request transfers or changes on a site. Not using it stretches a 5 minute job to a 20 minute job. Thanks.

RE: Somsen family Palmdale
No harm done, just a misunderstanding. I told Joseph to claim the requests and see if he could find Hugh.

According to RootsWeb, Aaron and Mary were divorced in the '40s (posted by John Somsen in 2000), but Harriet's name wasn't added to the genealogy record online. I'm not being nosy, I just like family mysteries (ours has way too many) and have been doing our genealogy for about 30 years, so a name other than what should be on the headstone sparks my interest.

Good luck in your search for Hugh and Mary.
