RE: Stark photos
Hi Kathleen,

There is a huge section of Stark headstones but the light wasn't the best and the stone color (rose quartz) made it difficult to see the engravings.

Last night I decided that my photographs from yesterday couldn't all be used because the names and dates were so hard to see.

I plan to try taking more photographs later this week. If I can get better photographs, then I will post them and (if possible) replace the ones I already posted.

I wanted you to know in case you notice a change in photographs.

How are you related to the Stark family. Are there headstones for any family members you particularly want photographs? If so, just make your photo requests and I will do my best to help you out.

Here in Illinois the autumn leaves are falling quickly. Unfortunately, this means that winter is on its way too and Naperville Cemetery may be covered with snow one day in the not too distant future.

Naperville Cemetery is just a few miles from our home and near where my daughter goes for activities twice weekly. I have my own ancestors buried there so I don't mind going exploring. It gives me another chance to pay my respects to my own folks.

Best wishes,

Mary Scott

Barbara Lee Simpson
Kathleen,

Would you know if Barbara Lee Simpson, daughter of Alva and Ruth Simpson, ever married? I can find no marriage record for her. There is an entry for a Barbara Lee Simpson in the Santa Fe National Cemetery and I wonder if this might be our Barbara Lee. I know she traveled to Italy with her mother in 1950, when she was 27, and still using her maiden name at that time. I've no idea if she ever served in the military. Of course, if she married and her husband served, she could be interred in a military cemetery with him. However, this memorial is under the name 'Barbara Lee Simpson'.

My thanks for your time.

RE: James Sullivan
Hi Kathleen,

I wasn't certain this was our Virginia but noticed the memorial had been created by someone else and thought perhaps if it wasn't someone in their family, it would be easy to enter the names in the wrong order.

Gosh, if I had a penny for every goof up I do, I'd have a lot of pennies to roll!

Thank you for confirming this is our Virginia.

Hi Kathleen,

You are most welcome. It is my pleasure to sponsor the page for James. The memorials you've created or are maintaining are so nice. Thank you for all you've done for the family.

I hav a question about Jennie Sullivan, burried in Sacred Heart Cemetery. The picture says Calvary Cemetery, but the text says Sacred Heart. Are they the same cemetery? Thank you!

Dear Kathleen,
Thanks so much. I nearly wrote you again to ask for the Goold spelling - thanks for keeping it straight. Yes, James and Hannah are my 6th great grandparents.
I descend through their son Isaac, his daughter Mary - and then down through the Shermans. Are you similar or different?
Best, Cousin David

Linen and Alice, each have their own stone. The engraving isn't very deep, but if you pull the photo up in an enlarge mode, you can see them clearly. Judy

RE: Redman in Pennsylvania
I agree with you that the information on Ancestry may be a little suspect, although several family trees show the same information they do not have good documentation. You can contact Prospect UM Church at (717) 382-4188 maybe they can help. If you find out that the information should be different than what I have you can use the "edit" tab on the memorials and I will be happy to make any changes that you suggest. Good luck in your research.

Hi,
I am not related to the Redman's in any way. I found the burial information from a family tree on Ancestry.com Here is a link: http://trees.ancestry.com/tree/22900173/person/1328366681?ssrc=&ml_rpos=1

I do not have any more info. Good luck in your search,

Alan and Mary Van Dyke
Lucy Moon Tenney Schriver #84842664
Hi Kathleen.
I can't merge them (I think only Find A Grave can do that).
Ray had attached the photo for Lucy, but he's got her in the wrong cemetery. He knew this when he wrote "this is a cenotaph" on her memorial. He's also got her last name as "Tenney", but it should read "Schriver", since that's on her headstone.
I tried to talk to Ray about it back when we found the errors, but I don't think he's doing much on Find A Grave anymore. We've got an agreement with Ray that we won't upload any of his photos without his permission... out of respect for the MANY MANY years he's done the research on this family, going to libraries, etc. He's got tons of binders with notes, documents, military data and photos. He's really done an awesome job on the Moon line (and other lines in his genealogy).
If you need any help on the Moon family line, let me know, as Lucy's older brother, John W.Moon #27549164 is Alan's gr gr grandfather.

Thanks!
Mary
