I want to thank you so much for taking the time to get the photo of their grave for me, and how quickly you were able to do it. They were my great grandparents! Thank you again so much! Your kindness is so appreciated!

Wonderful! I apologize if I opened an old wound. I just wanted to make sure I got you the correct photo. The other headstone has Irene as the spouse. I'm glad they made sure he was laid to rest with his true soulmate.

Cathy,

I'm glad the picture was what you wanted, but I have a question. There is another headstone right beside the one I sent you a picture of, and it has Willard C.'s named on it with matching birth date. The only difference is the spouse. I wasn't sure which one you wanted, so I sent the one that listed "Harriet" as the spouse. I've never run into 2 graves for 1 person before. Let me know if you want the other one for any reason.

Hello Once again :)
Hugh was still living in Washington Twp in 1900 and his sons Sherman and Amos are living with him. Interesting Sherman married in 1897 but in 1900 is listed as single. i posted memorials for Benjamin & Isadora.

Hope this helps

Hello again,
I did some checking on Benjamin Butler Fout. The memorial you sent me is the wrong one. This is Benjamin F Fout 1867-1938 married to M. Isabell, Benjamin Butler was 1861-1937 married to Isadore Armentrout and is buried in the Byhalia Cemetery per his death certificate. The Benjamin F is buried in Somerford, Madison County.

Hope this helps.
Jim

Hi Cathy,
Tecumseh Sherman is the youngest son of Hugh & Nancy. I am not sure what records you are referencing. But he is listed in the 1870 as Tekumsa and in the 1880 Census as Sherman and listed as a son of Hugh & Nancy in both. He was married twice, first to True P Coulter August 20th 1898 in Union County, and his brother Amos signed the marriage license. His 2nd marriage was to Ethel Spitznaugle March 31st 1904 in Hardin County and he lists his parents as Hugh & Nancy. One of his children is named Hugh. He was born June 17th 1865 in Union County and died January 7th 1956 in Cloverdale, Paulding County. He is buried in the Cascade Cemetery. as to the brother Benjamin Butler, he is listed as Anderson B in 1870 and Butler in 1880, but his death certificate does say Benjamin Butler.

Hope this helps
Jim

My cemetery here in my town were I live now is the same way and makes me just sick! Some kids or some vandals have gone out there and knocked over stones, some the ground shifted and these beautiful tall old stones have broken in half or fallen over. Some are too heavy to pick up. I wrote my city manager, however, he said the city had no control over this cemetery even though it has our town name in it. I guess it is run by sponsors. Some are so hard to read. My friend in Missouri who helps me with a lot of stones, she uses foil to put over some of the stones that are hard to read and outlines the names so you can read them. She really goes the extra miles, she just loves to take pictures of the stones and takes a lot of pride in taking good care of these stones as well. Here is what I am talking about with the foil... this is my husband's ggggg grandmother.

I hope you are enjoying this site. I just love it. If you ever have any questions, please ask. I have learned so much from other contributors, there are so many nice people on here.... I have met the nasty ones also... so beware..lol :)
