RE: hi melissa, could you help me confirm something
Hi Forrest, No I haven't heard anything about that. I havent been in touch with my Hamilton relatives since my great aunt Nellie in Vt.passed away. Thats sad to hear about the gentleman murdered. Ill have to look that up. If I hear anything, ill let you know. Let me know if you hear anything.
We have been dealing with the loss of my mom in law who passed away Oct 2. after having liver cancer. Hopefully this year will be better.
Thank you for letting me know and i'll check the news on Walter.

Hugs Melissa

I have the cemetery president's phone in my files somewhere. If I find it I will gladly send it to you.

I am sorry that the stone is unreadable. The cemetery association president assured me this was the correct stone as he and his wife mapped the cemetery years ago and the stone was readable then.

Just checking on the County of burial as it seems Co Galway may very well be incorrect?

RE: otho william barger
I went back to Fairmount Cemetery to look at Otto's plot. You mentioned the name Lucille Brown. There are 3 plaques where plot 4 should be. They are Cora Sanborn Brown; George Romaine Brown and Harriet Maxwell Sanborn. Also on the plot is a monument with the names Brown and Sanborn on it. There is definitely no Barger though unless it is completely overgrown.

RE: otho william barger
There were a number of headstones and plaques in the area of lot 4 in section 16, but none had the name Otho Barger. It is possible that he was buried without a marker and that would explain why I did not see anything with his name on it. Has the cemetery confirmed that there is a marker with his name on it there? You can call them to ask if there is one. I will be there again so it won't be any trouble to get a photo if there is one there and I just missed it.

RE: otho william barger
I don't recall other names there but I will look again and let you know. Is there any name in particular that you think might be there? There were other markers in the immediate area.

RE: Happy Belated Anniversary to your great grandparents Charles and Flora
Hi Forrest, Ok, i know him now. Not in person, but on paper. In my family papers i have Everett Howard Hamilton - born Sept. 4, 1891- d. ? His wife Ruth Grace Weatherhead Silk Hamilton- born Sept. 5, 1901- d. July 1987
Their son Walter Everett Hamilton born July 20, 1936- ? and said Walter got married 1959. But it doesn't say who to. Your mom? Everett is my great uncle and Walter my cousin. So that makes us cousins. Blood or not, still family. : )
Thank you for helping me figure it out. My family papers were done by my great aunt Nellie Doyle. Everetts sister. My grandma Ruth Hamilton Fellows is Everetts sister. Do you know anything more on Walter or Everett? I cant find anything on him or where Everett is buried. My mom says she thinks Walter was adopted but is not sure. And also heard that Everett either died same year or same day as his sister Mary Ella Hamilton Puffer. Also Everett and Ruth were married Feb. 2, 1950.
If you need info on them. Thats all i have so far. Im not to good at looking for info but got most of it from family.

Hugs, Missie

Hi Forrest, Its nice to meet you. Im not sure of who your moms 1st husband was. I know my grandma had a brother named Everett Howard Hamilton. Would that maybe be Your moms 1st husbands dad? I'll have to look at my family papers to see if i can find the name. Im still looking for some of my Hamiltons of my grandmas Ruth Hamilton Fellows, but i havent found her brother Everett yet. I have memorials for some with names of family on them, except living children of my great uncles and aunts. Thank you for letting me know we are related.

Hugs, Melissa

RE: William Pettengill

I went to the cemetery office today to get a fix on the Pettengills. Here is what I found from their records:

The following Pettengill markers are all in Section F85

William J Pettengill d. 7/29/1863 age 70
his wife Mary T Pettengill d. 5/13/1880 age 76

children of William & Mary T:

Alonzo L d. 11/5/1856 age 21
George A d. 7/3/1863 at Gettysburg age 28
Horace J d. 9/2/1849 age 21 yrs 10 mos
Martha A d. 8/23/1849 age 11 mos
Mary J d. 11/8/1848 age 23 yrs 3 mos

If all the kids do not have memorials, could you create them and put in photo requests that I can claim? I will get out to the cemetery by Labor Day to take photos.

Hi Forrest,

I do not know if I am going to go to Western Cemetery or not, but I am listing all the photo requests in case I do. You have a note regarding William J Pettengill. Is this a duplicate entry to memorial # 101642108?

Hello - RE: Harriet M Pettengill
Hello. I'm happy to take pictures for you. I won't be visiting the island until spring, though. I'll do some investigating for you. There is still one Pettengill LIVING on the island!

George Ferguson and Robert Ferguson @ Linwood Cemetery
As I assured you, I went today and took the stone pics and cleared off the stone you thought was located at the Highland Cemetery in Newton until I proved this for you. Not sure what you want done with this stone as you requested thereafter the efforts of someone else after I completed the correction so it would be in the right Cemetery. Maybe if you wouldn't mind making a contact with this person and tell her I already have these for you it would save her time and energy. Thanks ,,,, :)

George Ferguson
Take a look at the Memorial additions for George Ferguson along with where he is buried :) Hope this helps ,,,,

Ferguson Burial
Do you have an exact location for George Ferguson as the Cemetery has no listing for him in Newton. Or who he might be buried next to??

Added by 1_might_B_1 on Sep 30, 2011 6:01 AM

Highland Cemetery
You are looking for a clear pic or transcription of the Ferguson stone. Do you have a Row/Section where he is buried. When I am there I will take a second look at this.
