RE: Holt - Richards Cemetery
GPS Coordinates: Latitude: 37.11267, Longitude: -80.09773
If you go to the Holt Richards, cemetery that I have posted, you will find a map.
NO you can NOT see any thing from the road. It is up on a large ridge, across a small field, then cross a creek, then a steep ridge. about a 300 yard walk.climb to the top of the ridge all wooded, NO markings, just a few tomb stones. I would not try to go there this time of year, to many snakes and ticks.

Cemetery notes and/or description:
This is an old cemetery on rt 602 from Bent Mt. about 1.5 miles. Located in the woods up on a hill. If coming from top of the Mt. abt. 1.5 miles on the left, small grasses field, then cross a creek, then walk up on top of the ridge.
Only 6 graves found with markers, all others, just stones. , There are Holts that live near by they should be able to explain how to get there.
I have been there, will post a GPS reading when I get a changes to go there again.

Do you have more information where this cemetery is located?

RE: Mittie Elizabeth Bradford Nichols
I just read your inquiry today re: Mittie Elizabeth Bradford Nichols. It appears that Mittie should have read Mattie, daughter of Walter and Ellen Hinkle Bradford. I am not sure how Nichols was attached unless she was a widow prior to the given marriage to Frank James Yopp.

Hi Kathie,

Thank you very much for taking the photograph of that marker. I did not have a camera that day. Another member questioned what the stone said and I am very glad to have had it the way I entered it. Thanks again!

Years ago I took a trip to Nottaway County to find this grave but was unsuccessful. This elusive ancestor has been one of my "walls". Your kind act means a lot to me. Thank you!!!

Lawson Kelley Photos
Thanks a TON! I am so greatful for these great pics!

Lawson Alexander Kelley b1831 was the father, Sarah Harker (LeGrand) Kelley his wife, and Leonard Alexander Kelley his oldest son. His mother is the "widow Kelley" at the Appomattox Battlefield, where his family had property and probably were present at the surrender. He had 2 brothers who died for the CSA in the civil war - amongst other siblings

This is incredible stuff, and I am so grateful for these photos!

Dave Nesbitt (mom-Kelley)
2nd great grand-nephew of Lawson A Kelley
