Hi cousin! I'm not sure if you had read this but I thought I would share just to make sure. In my 2nd great grandfather's (Giles Montgomery Adams Sr.) testimony for his brother William's pension application, he recalled how his brother almost died during the Civil War. "We were both members of Company E, 179th Regiment - Ohio Infantry Volunteers. In the month of March, 1865, while in camp near Nashville Tennessee, Wm. J. Adams, had an attack of Measles, which made him very sick. I nursed him all the time during his sickness. I thought it doubtful about his getting well, but he did recover. He complained ever afterward about his breast hurting. I think his health was impaired by that spell of Measles."

Did you go to the courthouse to look for deeds and wills of Arch and Isaac? I want more photos of cemetery and the area available. Send e-mail if phone doesn't work

|Kendra Ziebell||Chapman Cemetery|
Thank you so much for photographing Chapman Cemetery. I have long wondered what these headstones looked like. What can you tell me about it? Obviously there is no caretaker there due to the condition of the headstones. How old is it and where is it located. Henley Jackson was my 3rd great grandfather, Archibald was my 4th, George Jackson (who married Patience Clay) was my 5th, and John was my 6th. If you are interested in exchanging information, my email is email@example.com. I'd love to share information and find out where you fit into the tree.
Thanks again for the photographs!!

do you know anyone or have you found the stone of Isaac Chapman in this cemetery? He was my 2nd great grandfather. Have you got any photos of the chapman cemetery in general? His stone was there according to records in 1976. It may be buried under leaves, brush, or even umder the dirt about 12 inches deep. would love for someone to look into this for me for then I will have tombstone photos back several generations.
I am kin to the chapman's of that area and have about three notebooks of information. will share
please if u can't do this direct this e-mail to some one who might be willing to help. Keep up the good work and God bless.

From reading what was in Etta Trowbridge Phillps memorial Jacob Trowbridge must have been her brother.
Added by Sherry on Sep 26, 2012 4:53 PM
Jacob Trowbridge was my great gandfather. I looked in some of the information I have on the Trowbridge family but I don't have the name of Etta Trowbrige Phillp on any of them.

|Robert Strong||RE: Chapman Cemetery|
I have transfered the last remaining Chapmans in this cemetery to you also (Francis Chapman and Sarah Dawson Chapman). I am distantly related to some Chapmans in the Gallia area, but have not yet worked much on this side of my family. When I do, I'm sure that your work with the Chapmans will be invaluable to my research. When I have a little time or get bored working on my tree, I search and find names and grave information that nobody has added to Find-A-Grave and create memorials for them on this site. I think everyone should be memorialized here if possible. I had no idea that you were working with this cemetery, but am grateful that the Chapman family is in such good hands. Thank you for your work on this great site.

Thank you so very much for your time and effort in locating Nora's grave. The photo is perfect! We were not certain that a headstone remained since her death so long ago in 1893. Words cannot express our gratitude! You are an angel!
