Find A Grave Memorial# 39564735
Martha was buried in Portsmouth, VA.
I have been doing research on the "JETT" family in Hampton, Va.
Might you know who her "JETT" husband might have been?
Her names somewhat have me a little confused.
It would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

George M. Akins
Albert Blalock birth date
It looks like the headstone gives his year of birth to be 1868 not 1864

RE: Membership
The PC Genweb site is active again. I would resubmit the surveys. She is also linking to the Find A Grave surveys. We have relocated and surveyed about 70% of the WPA cemeteries in our county using a 1928 roadmap. We should make a list of the ones that haven't been found. Becky and I have taken pictures of quite a few cemeteries in the southern part of the county but haven't uploaded to the memorials yet. Hope we don't overlap. Do you have any memorial pictures that you haven't posted from Blalock-Chambers at County Line Rd? That is one we plan to finish up soon.

RE: Membership
Hey, It's all about getting the info out to the families. That's 10,000 memorials we didn't have to create ;-)..... now if we can just get pictures of all of them. Maybe start some virtual cemeteries for county veterans or something. Definitely keep adding new surveys at GenWeb and Find A Grave.
Keep having fun

Heya Grady,
Yep, we joined after seeing that most of our cemetery surveys had preceded us here without any credit given to those who did the fieldwork. ;-) Good to see the work you are doing in the county too.

Luayne Pierce
James A Jones
Am not sure. Lee Hite added info on James A Jones, and I added another memorial with more info. Martha Hite Jones is James A Jones' wife.

All records I have on James A Jones show he died in Woodsdale, Person, NC.

Martha died in Halifax Co, VA and James A remarried and had more children by 2nd wife.

He might be buried in Alfred Shotwell Cemetery...Alfred is son of John Shotwell, Jr. and James A Jones daughter.

Martha Blackwell Request
Grady,

Thanks for the info on the cemetery where Martha Blackwell supposedly is. If you happen to go out there in the future, I'd love to see your photos of the markers that are there and/or the general area, just out of curiosity.

Best regards,

Kelly O'Brien

CINDY BENNETT
Long Pulliam Cemetery
Any chance that this James M Long in this cemetery is the son of Byrd Long. He has a daughter named Sarah. I have a birth year of James as 1832 ( 1860 , 1880, 1900, 1920 census )

There should be a death certificate for this man since he's still alive in 1920
