I don't think so, but I will do some digging and see if I can find anything. Terry

RE: Marie Adenise Istre Constantin
Thanks for your response. I think I am mistaken in saying that I knew Howard, your father......instead I believe it was his brother Abbie. I recall a man who I now believe was Abbie who worked for my grandfather at his shop "M. Constantin & Sons" on Texas Ave, hwy 90, in Rayne. In any case, I was a young teenager hanging around the shop (when we'd come to town on vacation) I rode over to Crowley with Abbie (?) in a "wrecker" to tow a welding/truck back from the I-10 construction site (I-10 was being built) So now I'm not sure if I knew Howard. I remember your grandmother, Aunt Melanie, made a hell of a good duck gumbo out at their house on hwy 35. I also remember there was a gravel road on the left (heading south on 35) just before their house and barn------and at sometime previously they lived on that road (on the right) just before the woods. I also remember old colorful carriages/wagons stored in the barn at that house---maybe I'm just nuts. In any case, I'm not interested in too much typing so if you've got questions, call sometime---Steve, 269-0623.

BTW, Stewart Laurent (son of Olita Laurent) @ Candyland is my first cousin. His mother and my mother were sisters---both dead.

Regarding Perry, I hadn't done any/much research but since you asked, I checked this with Ancestry.

I do recall Uncle Perry and Aunt Melanie Constantin but don't know who you're talking of when you talk of Gladys and Verina.

Also remember Mervyn and Howard(?).

Sorry to disappoint you but her son, Maurice, is my grandfather and I have the same relationship to her as you do. As such there's no point in transferring.

Have a good day.

Please remove the death cert. from the fore mentioned memorial. I do not feel like a D C. is a proper place on a memorial, and would appreciate it very much if you would remove it.
Thank you very much.

Louise (Menard) Duplechin
Thank you for your good eye. I appreciate that you pointed our a discrepancy between the birth date I showed on her memorial and the birth date on her marker.

My source for the birth day was:
---------------------------------
Social Security Death Index
---------------------------------
Name: Louise Duplechin
Birth Date: 24 August 1899
Death Date: February 1980
Issuing state: Louisiana
Last place of Residence: Sulphur, Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana

HOWEVER, Find A Grave rules are that the date on the burial marker prevails, and thanks to the photo, I could see what was on the marker and I updated her memorial.

Good eye! Keep it up. I love being wrong!!!

I received the following message from you, sent to me from the edit tab on the memorial of Marie Carmelite Mouton at: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=107023076

You sent no links, so your message left me a bit confused. What am I missing?

You wrote:

I am related to both the Dugas family and the Mouton family. I think you might
find this to be the burial place of Marie Carmelite Mouton. It would not be the
first time a date was incorrect on a headstone. She is listed at the top on the
right side of the tomb. Hope this helps.

Sorry took so long to respond to your "problem with Clara Leger grave pic request". You said the cemetery needed her husbands name to be able to locate her. Her husband was Julien or Julienne Leger.

Perry Benton
Hello,
My name is Katheryn Hutsell Billings. My mother is Helen Mary Benton Hutsell. Her father was Perry Benton. In addition to Howard, my mother also had brothers Mervin and Abby. I do have a few pictures taken years ago. My mother is still living in Calif. at age 92, but her mind has been slipping for some time now. I have lived here in South Carolina for almost 43 years. I was happy to find information on my relatives on this site.

Yes, I think this must be the same Nelson Tyler that you wrote about. I've updated his memorial and would love for you to add the headstone photo. Thanks for sending the information.

RE: Mouton Family
You're missing Jean, between Antoine and Jacques. Jean is the father of Jacques, not Antoine. FROM "THE MOUTONS": My direct ancestors in order: Antoine: Born and died in France; Jean: Born Marseille, France, 1685, Died Beaubassin, Acadie, c. 1740; Jacques: Born Grand Pré, Acadie, 1714, Died Beaubassin, Acadie, c. 1750; Jean Diogene dit "Neveu": Born Beaubassin, Acadie, 1740, Died St. Martin Parish, 1802; Jean Fréderic: Born St. James Parish, 1768, Died St. Martin Parish, 1815; Jean Augustin: Born St. Martin Parish, 1796, Died Vermilion Parish, 1880; Toussaint dit "Lessaint": Born St. Martin Parish, 1816, Died Vermilion Parish, 1897; Onezieme Lessin: Born Vermilion Parish, 1855, Died Vermilion Parish, 1942; Joseph Clodiste: Born Vermilion Parish, 1875, Died Perry, LA, 1936; Joseph Clodiste is my grandfather, buried with his wife (Odilia David) in the St. Mary Magdalene Cemetery and Mausoleum in Abbeville. I created and manage their memorials on Find-A-Grave. If you live near Lafayette, the Lafayette Parish library on Jefferson Street has a section devoted to genealogy. I'm pretty sure they have "The Moutons" book.

RE: Azelie Simon Abshire #103306912
Cossinade is about 3 miles northwest of Kaplan on LA Hwy 13. It was a thriving community, but began to decline about the time that the Holy Rosary Church was moved from Cossinade to Kaplan, about 1900. The church owned (and still owns) the Cossinade cemetery. The cemetery is still active. Google Vermilion Parish Cemeteries. Probably your first hit will be a web site with all the cemeteries in Vermilion Parish. Scroll down to Cossinade. Click on the icon that looks like a headstone. You will get a list prepared by Mr. Edwin Hebert in July 1996. It's a text file. I don't see Azelie Abshire in the list. No Mrs. Lessin either.

Try again, the marker is on-line now. That happens some times, must be a flaw in the system.

RE: Clarification of Note.
The Find A Grave photo request indicated that the grave was located in the Cedar Swamp Baptist Church Cemetery. The link to that cemetery includes a photo of a cemetery which is, in fact, of the Cedar Grove Methodist Church Cemetery.
The grave of your relative is located in the Cedar Grove Baptist Church Cemetery which is located at 3905 Big Woods Road, Kingstree, SC. This cemetery is about a mile and a half away from the one identified in the photo request as the location of the grave.
