|FranzJr||Question for you...|
Are you related to William (1867-1957) and Mary Alice (Kendig)(1875-1938) Struchen?
If so, she is my 1st cousin 3x removed :)
Have a great day.

|FranzJr||RE: Mary Kreider Edit|
I am so sorry... I'm not sure where I got those Jacob and Catherine from. I have deleted the edit for Mary.
I have Jacob Fry and Katherine Wilgest / Wilgert from Mary's death certificate.
I have Jacob b. 1830 and Katherine b. 1839 in my tree.
Does that sound right to you? They are on the 1880 census with Edith.
I cannot find them on F.A.G., have you?
Again, sorry :(

You can become a certified genealogist by passing tests from national Associations. Check out colleges that have a certification program. I would like to discuss the Pratt, Doan and Swanson families. Check the web for these programs.
I have all of the information that you have on these families and a lot more. Adelaide Pratt was my great grandmother.

On her stone you can only make out the Jones but not her first name. I checked the cemetery records and they did not list any dates.

All info originally shown on her memorial came from the source given. This was an old newsletter I used to subscribe to and obviously could have been a typo. I've amended the memorial to show 1880 per the PA Mortality Schedule with a notation about the date I had originally shown. Also, requested a photo so that might help if a marker can be found. Thanks for your input.

I am related to the Blood family but not closely to the Blood's in Ohio. I spent years trying to trace my Blood line through Wisconsin, Maine, Vermont, Massachusetts, and ending in Ruddington, Nottinghamshire, England. Since I had collected so much data over the years it has grown into a "one name study" of the Blood family with 53,000 names in my database so far!
I did not fare as well with my Fleming line. The trail led me to the area north of Pittsburgh PA in the 1750's and has died there. For the last several generations they were from the western Wisconsin area.

Glad to give you management of their memorials. When I was young I used to go to their home with their granddaughter, Louise. I went to the same church as they did. Love to give management to family members.

Brian to answer your question about being a genealogist there are a number of programs throughout the US. I received my certification from the University of Washington in Seattle. If you got online and checked for these programs I am sure you would find one in your area.
Adelade (Adelaide)Pratt was My gr. grandmother and her death has remained a mystery.I am sure if I traveled to several locations I might be able to resolve the issue, but requires traveling several thousand miles. Her death was estimated to be around 1881-82. Adelade's daughter (my grandmother) was born Mary Buchner but was adopted when she was a four year old and her named changed to Mae Cobey. Her adopted mother was a family cousin - a Doan I suspect. The Pratts, Doans and Buchners intermarried on many occasions in that part of New York. This is my stonewall. But as you can testify we nver quit trying.

I am a certified genealogist and like you I have been researching the Swanson family line back to Adelade Pratt Case,(my missing gr.grandmother) her daughter was Ada E. Case Swanson, mother of George Willard Swanson, father of Roland L Swanson, husband of Norma B Stuchen. If you have any information that would help me in search for clues to this family I would be very appreciative. I am also willing to share information I have.
