Sam, we talked a couple of years ago when you were researching the Hixon family. My grandmother was Sarah Hixon Powell. Today I found a picture that says it was from 1908 (a copy, not an original). It has two little girls in it, and says Lula - July 16, 1903 and Sarah Feb 10, 1907. I don't know who Lula is, but would gladly share the photo.

RE: george w hixon - mount orum, redfield, ks
first wife Louisa memorial is still with originator, you will have to go thru findagrave administrator to request transfer as memorial is maintained by deceased contributor. they will do so without issue. give them the link to the memorials you want.

transferred Geo W Hixon prior to adding first wife link - so you can add that: memorial ID 16415051.

RE: mayse hixon
ok. will see what my mom had on George Washington family line. I thought the names - both you and mayse sounded familiar when I saw that link. do you want George and Louisa and lucie and the 2 children in mount orum transferred to you? I think those memorials are assigned to original owner, but I might have had all the Hixons transferred to me. to transfer those if Mike Wren is the owner, contact Findagrave administration as it is a deceased memorial owner, and they will transfer to you.

the book you mentioned - only info printed was what was submitted to author, or known by author's research. not sure, but my family line has only 1 child for my grandparents, and my father was the 7th child, I took records to and from Iva and my mom on my way to college quite often, yet still only 1 child listed for our line. so yours is not the only line with missing relatives in the book. I hate that since it is published and used as fact, but cannot be helped. I added a quick update summary of missing info in the book at the genealogy library in fort scott. will add Mayse to that listing. for George Washington line, probably all info known is in the book. many of the records might be in Crawford county as hiatville is on the line and some were in Hepler across the line. the rest of the family that was in that area moved to Allen County or stayed in the Redfield/Fort Scott area.

let me know if you need/want any info on Mayse's parents George Washington and Louisa (Lucy/Lucie) Messenger Hixon. my gr-grandfather and George Washington were brothers. i have an old school book belonging to her sister Sarah Angeline Hixon Powell. (Angeline being the name of one of 2 sets of twin sisters of George - perhaps Mayse also has a midle name of one of his younger sibling twins.)
