Yes that is my great grandmother, I haven't been able to find anything for my grandfather past his mother and father John Arthur Moody Sr.

I was able to find my grandmothers parents and found their parents were Welch, my grandmothers mom died while giving birth to twins. I have always wondered why I couldn't find my great grandparents parents from my grandpas side though. I'm wondering if he wasn't an orphan too.

Would you happen to know who John Moody Sr. Parents were? I have been working on our family tree for years and can't find any information on him.

Thanks for you assistance, as well. It cleared up some errors that I had in my files. I am interested in clearing up more info, like where is her father buried, when and where did he die? I would also like to see the picture that you have. I ran across the one from her obit.

I didn't know him personally, he passed before I was born. He is my uncle. I am the youngest daughter to Paula Moody.

Mary V. Grant
Here is what just figured out. Her full name was Mary Virginia Lamb. Her nickname was Jennie. She was married to J.A. Moody, Junior (from what I make out). She was born in 1922. Does this sound about right?

RE: Mary Grant
Just found your question on Mary Lamb being married to a Moody. Good question. I just found one of his wives listed as Mary Moody in my files, which would possibly mean Mary Moody and Mary Lamb were one and the same person.! Let me know what you find. I'm limited. I operate from my phone now, no computer.

Sorry, name and marriage date info is all I have. This is my great grandfather's youngest brothers family. I have tried to get in touch with this side of the family, but to no avail. Sorry I wasn't more helpful.

Mr. Day
RE: Obituary
Hello Diane,

First off, I added the obituary for your Laura Hutchason Chewning that you mentioned. So please check it out.

I really appreciate your message and the fact that you noticed my many obituaries that I've added. I honestly just try my best to improve every memorial when I come across it. I've added obituaries to basically every single one of my ancestors to the best of my ability. I believe that these death notices (obituaries) are always one of the most powerful family research tools you can use.

I get obituaries 2 different ways. I'll tell you the quick basics. If you want specifics for either then I'll gladly tell you. Just email me.

1. Free method: news google.com
This is googles free archive that anyone can search and use. This is the method I use 75% of the time. It's wonderful. Google people basically scanned and copied millions of newspapers for the last 70 or so years and offer them for free online to anyone.

2. Pay method (for Missouri):
This is a website that is provide by the Missouri Historical Society. This website charges $10 per obituary. I use this website whenever I can't locate a Missouri obituary on my own. The people that work at the Missouri Historical Society are amazing. They find most obituaries and basically any other event that ever appeared in any Missouri newspaper as far back as the late 1800's.
The payment method for my obituaries is always my last resort, but they are solid. I have probably purchased at least
30 - 40 obituaries from them. They will search every single relevant newspaper archive.

Find another memorial of yours that you want to add an obituary to and I will gladly walk you through the rest. I'm always happy to help.

Joe
