RE: Ada Teller 115612756
Well I checked and visually I couldn't tell anything. I took some pictures and the 4 were four months seems to be doesn't look like a 4 where the month number should be. It looks more like a round part of an 8. And from several angles
including the ones already posted it appears to say 26 days instead of just 6. But with how w0rn the date areas are I feel like I'm just guessing. I posted what I thought was the clearest angle so you can take a look also. If you'd like I can transfer the memorial over to you? Lloyd

RE: Ada Teller 115612756
Hi there..thank you for your help...Lets wait to change it until you see it for sure. If it does say 14 then we can put our notes about our findings for her age in her bio..if it says 18 then we can fix the dates..what do you think? Thankyou for your help...Sincerely, Wendy

RE: Ada Teller 115612756

The information you have gathered seems to indicate she was over 14. I can't tell by the picture. I think the information I posted was from a 1990 booklet of Cemetery's of St. Joe County. And even then they may have miss-read it. You can change the date if you like just submit an edit and I'll approve it. I'll try to stop by this weekend and take a look at the stone also.

Take care. Lloyd

oops..forgot to add..the death index for Ada and the Michigan Death Records also give a birthdate of 1863/1864.

Hi There..hope this finds you well and researching...:0). I have been checking into the Teller side of my family and I believe you have helped me before..I have a question about the above memorial..on the memorial you noted that she was 14 years of age..could it have been 18?..I ask because I found her in the 1880 Census with a birthdate of abt. 1864 and her death certificate states she was a school teacher and died December 18, 1882. I was just tossing that out there to get your thoughts...Thanks in Advance, Wendy

I had a great time there. We had our family reunion on the island. Time was very limited but I had to get to the cemeteries. What a beautiful place it is there. Someone has done a lot of work on the Find A Grave info but no pictures.
If I get the chance to go back I will rephotograph the entire thing again and pick the best pics to post. I was just very limited on time.
You are right what a fantastic history there is there. I would love to spent lots of time at the historical society and library on the island.

Ralph DeWayne
Hi Wendy,
I could not find a marker for Wayne. I took a photo of the DeWayne family plot. Maybe you can call the office and verify whether there is a marker for Ralph and location.
Also, There is a marker in the upper right corner that says Baby. It is to the right of Velma & Rena.
If you have any info on the Baby I will add to the memorial.

Jacob Kesselring - Cambria #1
We saw Jacob's rather large tombstone. Sadly I missed writing his name on my shortsheet list of markers to photograph. His tombstone is looking rather forlorn, lots of cracks, probably in danger of falling apart.
Again, sadly, we were visiting Mich. this weekend, won't be going back soon, it's 300 miles from our home in central Illinois.
Good luck!

I have an almost complete list of everyone buried in Oak Hill Cemetery and they are not on that list. I will check with the cemetery manager tomorrow and see if they are buried there or not. However I did locate this piece of information for you. (Jonathan Cooper Tyler born Pidgeon Prairie, Michigan Jan. 11, 1830 died Red Bluff June 22, 1896 married Tehama Co. March 10, 1854 to Mary Dement born Dubuque, Iowa Jan. 18, 1835 died Red Bluff Feb 23, 1914.)

I went through all of the photos I still have to add and there is nothing for Margaret. We will be going back there next summer so I can look again.

Good luck on your search!

I am from Ohio and took photos on vacation. I still have about 300 to enter. Hopefully the one you are looking for will be in this bunch. I'm sorry I'm not much help on this one.

RE: Taylor problem!
The information on Marshall R Taylor came from "City Cemetery Record, South Bend, Indiana, 1828-1875" His record is on page 60 of that book.
Good to know it gives you one more piece of the puzzle!!
Take care, Ginny

The Jackson County (Oregon) Genealogical Library has his death certificate. It's year 1941, pg. 197.

They'll send you a copy for $10. I don't know if that's cheaper than going through the State but it's an option. They don't have an obituary for him though. Hope that helps and good luck in your searching.

You are most welcome. He is definitely buried in the cemetery; he just doesn't have a stone. The Jackson County Genealogical Library has the records of the cemetery provided by the sexton a few years back. I imagine that's how his memorial got created.

Those, unfortunately, have numerous errors. That's why I did my inventory. The Library now has my records also but they aren't available on line. I predict you'll not have luck contacting the cemetery sexton (I never could). Anyway, I've got the grave location and a map of the cemetery (also available at the Library). Just no photo as there isn't a stone.
