Connie Meeks Duffey
hello!

I found you posted a flower on a page that I was working on the bio for a co-FAGer. Anyway, I read your bio and loved what you said about the folks that hoard memorials and are in it for the numbers.

Do they not know that they will always have the record of the ones they create??? I have many classmaes and friends memorials I am adding bios for with photos and am always so appreciative when someone transfers without following specific Find A Grave guidelines. It leaves a story for the future.

Anyway, I just wanted to drop by and say hello.
I too am a volunteer photographer.

Have a great today and tomorrow.
Connie

Hi Gina, I used the edit tool already. Since it didn't come across the first time I just did it again. The fifth photo does not belong in this memorial.

Sarah Hobbs Thomasson Memorial
Hi Gina,
I'm reasearching my Thomason line which includes Garrison and Sarah Hobbs Thomasson. Thank you for adding photos to Sarah Hobb Thomason's Memorial! The last photo displayed is of Sarah Spruill's marker. Do these two Sarahs share a marker? I didn't find a Memorial for Sarah Spruill in this cemetery.
Thanks in advance Gina for your help on this and all the other photos you have taken. We appreciate it.

County Line Cemetery on Pine Mountain
I am seeking information on anyone buried in the county line cemetery on Pine Mountain. My Dad was buried there in 2012. That was the first dated burial there since 1939. We are in the process of cleaning the cemetery as well as putting up a fence. I noticed you have relatives buried here. Do you know which grave or graves they are in? Do you have dates of birth and/or death. I would love to get any info have concerning anyone buried at this cemetery. Please email back if you have any info you would like to share. The cemetery is located on our property so we are very interested in finding our what we can. Or is you know of anyone else that would have info. We would love to meet you there sometime. Thanks for your time. Jean Woods

RE: Rev. F.A. Patterson
I think there is a misunderstanding. I'm not asking you to change anything that's on the marker. I was curious about the "Rev." designation, since in his various pension applications and statements in 1888-1890 he never mentioned this. I would love to see what you have as far as his association with Concord Church, since I am writing about him. I don't dispute that he could have been a minister.

If the 56th Ga. Infantry designation was inscribed on the headstone by the family, that's a different story. My understanding was that you added that to the memorial page based on the cited book; and either this is the world's biggest coincidence, or it is an error. There is no F.A. Patterson on the rolls of the 56th Georgia, but the F.A. Patterson who served with the 6th NY Cav. and the 3rd W.Va. Cav. is well-documented, and died the same day, was the same age, had a wife by the same name, etc. as the one buried at Concord, and he lived nearby. Please do let me know any information you have on Mr. Patterson. And I am happy to send you my research, which will probably be turned into an article and published. But I need your email to do so. These public messages are not appropriate for an extended discussion. Thank you.

Rev. F.A. Patterson
Gina --

There is no doubt that this man was a Union officer, not a Confederate soldier. I have conducted exhaustive research on him, and on his second wife Mary, who applied for a widow pension within weeks of his death in October 1890. I will be happy to send you my documentation. And I would urge you either to correct the memorial, or transfer it to me, and I will add the correct information.

Thank you.

Homer Williams
Hi Gina. I used the "edit" button to send you a transcribed obituary for Homer Williams. It has some information that could be added to a biography (i.e. parents, cause of death, etc.). If you need a copy of the original, let me know and I can e-mail you one.
