Pvt James Barber
Jimmie:
I saw the memorial you created for Pvt James Barber, # 74893620.
If you are one of his descendants, then you and I are related. James S Barber was my g-g-grandfather. If you have access to Fold 3 you can find microfilm copies of his service record. One thing about the memorial: his date of death is August 1861, not 1862. He enlisted in either the 3rd or 4th of June 1861 and went by railroad to Virginia. He died at Bristoe Station, Virginia of typhoid. I wrote an article about him "James S Barber - A Confederate Soldier in the 10th Alabama Regiment" which was published in Northeast Alabama Settlers; Northeast Alabama Genealogical Society in January of 2013.
