I have a photo to add of him to the memorial but all the spots have been used. Would you consider either sponsoring the memorial if you are related or deleting one of the photos so it can have a photo of the person. Thank you!

Elizabeth Poindexter
Hello Barbara:

You added a memorial for Elizabeth Poindexter on 12/01/2013. Her maiden name was Elizabeth Wright daughter of William E Wright & Nancy Keedy. She had 3 husbands. The first husband was George W Sears(1828-1853), the second husband was Albert V Poindexter(1818-1877) & the third husband was David Bloomington Nugent. There is an earlier memorial #70515342 for Elizabeth Wright Nugent.

RE: Martha Loretta McAtee Bullock
Hi, Barbara.

Well, I'm sure confused. When I received the standard Find A Grave message saying the suggested edits had been approved, I looked at the memorial and there were two links to the spouse. Yet, now there are none. I checked the edit that was approved, and there are links to her spouse and to both parents. I cannot explain what happened to the approved link to the spouse; the parents are still linked. If you look at your approved edits, you should see these links.

Interesting mystery.

At any rate, I have submitted an edit request linking Martha to her spouse.

Warm regards,

RE: Abraham Wells
Mmmm ... he is definitely WELLS, I must have sent a typo. The reason I found him as I could read the date of death on the headstone as Nov 1880.
His birth date is 30 Apr 1800 so he was a little over 80 years old when he died.

I manage a database for WELLS surname for people who have Y-DNA testing lineages that is the reason I have the data.

Sorry if I sent a typo.

Thanks very much!

Unfortunately, researching this family from the old records down shows the older records, and doing them from recent records back shows totally different surname variations, because of spelling/pronunciation. Although I am now SLAYTON, all of my ancestors records before the 20th c are SLATEN, SLATTEN and SLATTON. This creates a lot of confusion until the graves are actually found and images, so I really appreciate your action.

I was fortunate to have two granddaughters of the brothers William Allen and John to bolster each other's story, which is really an American Tragedy in some ways. There was a high level of depression among this family after the war, with the usual consequences. I need to find a male for DNA sampling, so if you live in those parts (near Paoli) and run into any, please have them contact me at We have DNA from a dozen of their cousins (like myself).

RE: Tegarden
The Descendants of Abraham Tegarden" is a book of almost 900 pages of his descendants!!

Actually, most of the Tegardens in this country are descended from Abraham Tegarden who came with his son, Abraham to America in 1736. They were both born in Solingen, Germany.
These are the different spellings in the book: Teagarden, Teegarden, Teegardin, Teeguarden, Tegarden.
They all came from Tegarden but I think it differentiated the lines of descendants.

The unfortunate part is because of the different spellings, it can be difficult to create links to their relations and we do find that there are a lot of duplicate memorials for the same individuals.

Thank you for your work on findagrave!!

I am trying not to bombard you, but I have a deep level of commitment to researching these lines, they are all part of my family. If you do not wish to transfer because you have a family connection, I certainly understand. If you visit this link:

you will see the father of William Allen and John B Slaten/Slayton. You can follow them down and you will see the amount of data I have for this family "branch." We are also looking for a direct male descendant for DNA, so if you know any males with this last name, please have them contact me at:

Incorrect marriage date
I've addressed the discrepancy in the memorial remarks. I was surprised when I notice the photo, since I've been in the cemetery a number of times. Would have to be on the reverse side of the stone I took a picture, just surprised I've missed it a number of times.
