RE: Mcmillan grave stone
Hi Patricia, He married a great great aunt of mine. The disk on the marker states he was a veteran of the Spanish-American War. Do research about him, I found on Ancestry.com. he was stationed in the Phillipines during the war. He was also in the US calvary before that. Haven't searched his family. He was born 21 Feb. 1872 in IL.
Hope this helps, Pete

Richard Wesley
OTA V. McMILLAN
Hello, Patricia! Gosh, I'm sorry, I'm not related to Ota, so I do not know the orgin of his middle name, but usually when certain names, like Vitley, are used as a middle name, that means that one of his ancestors had that name as a surname.
My McMillan ancestors came orginally from Harrison County, Ohio and settled near Stafford, Kansas.
When I get out to do some "graving" I always look for people with the surnames of my ancestors including McMillans....I do those in case I get lucky and connect to a distant cousin from a side branch.
I'm sorry I don't have any further information for you....I hope you find out what you are asking...
REGARDS, RICHARD
