John and Deborah Marshall are one set of greats and William and Jane Bruce Marshall are the other set buried in that cemetery (or one nearby?) Wills are located in the courthouse there.
Thanks! Joyce N

Marshall Cemetery in Nelson Co., KY
Hi Chuck-X.
Are there old headstones from the last century? I am headed up that direction for Christmas and will stop in if there are.

Is there an index or cemetery book which shows interments do you know?

THanks
Joyce Newton...descendent of the Marshall clan.

Dear Sir,

You have created duplicate entries for all of the folks you have entered in this cemetery. Please change the cemetery to # 46689, Which is known as "Younkin Cemetery" I will be happy to transfer these folks to you for management once this is done, and you may update, and delete duplicate entries. Thank you.

Linda

RE: McCollough Relative ?
I am! I know there are duplicates but there are also cemetary grabbers out there who upload Excel spread sheets just to get numbers and don't do anything past that. (case in point) I'm all about honoring the person!

Got it! Thank you! Back when I posted these they didn't have the option to link the relatives. Looks like I need to work on this cemetery again ;-)

I don't believe I met her. How is she connected? I'm sorry. Some we never met or were aware we had, maybe at a reunion. Thanks.

RE: William Keyser
I haven't done much on John's branch of the family but here is an excerpt from an email stating he dies in Wayne County WV in 1847:

Education was very limited during this period, schoolhouses were private enterprises. Jack had a schoolhouse built on a small point on a hill near Dock's Creek Road (a cut-off from Rt 75) It was in use until 1890, when it was torn down and the logs used again to buildl another schoolhouse near the bottom of the hill. The original school site was built on Lot #22 of the Savage Grant, purchased from Levi Shortridge, who had purchased it from Soldier Philip Gatewood. It is now encompassed within the expanded Dock's Creek Cemetery. Dock's Creek Cemetery was originally "God's Acre" donated by Keyser for anyone's burial. The small private Keyser Cemetery located on Rt 75 is on part of the land given by John to son David.

Also if you google Keyser-Keysor Cousins you can download the original family genealogy from the 1950's which is on Bridget Keyser's webpage

RE: William Keyser
Thanks for the info.
Unfortunately the Charles Sebastian Keyser as William's father is misinformation that has been propagated throughout the internet and is now an unstoppable force.
I have been doing dna research on the Keyser family for a couple years and can say that Keziah's parents are correct but William's are still unknown. His mother maynhave been a Fleming based on dna but his father is still unknown.
Google : Kaiser DNA Project and you can see a y dna paternal line comparison between male descendents of William and of Charles Keyser. They are not even the same haplotype so cannot be paternally related. William's is I1D1 which is Nordic Scandinavian and Charles is R1B (if I recall) which is central Germany.
The only Keyser's I found that may be related are in Northumberland, Va and there is a possible brother named James Keyser that martied Sally Power and had a son named William and a daughter named Keziah. If I could get a hold of the y-dna from one of his descendents I would no for sure.

Chuck,

Making rounds to update pictures, thought I'd give you notice as I know you were very interested in family members there.

Thank you for the vote. I was pretty shocked but thought it was kinda cool to see someone so "famous".

My heart goes out to you, what a special memory. My daughter saw the doctor yesterday and things are looking really good with this baby, it will be her first living child. She is 14 weeks now, so our hopes are high :)

RE: 'Childe' York, 1930
Yes Chuck, I do totally understand I have 5 daughters and we have lost 4 babies to miscarriages, so I too feel they should have a name. I just thought it was a type o because of the e, but now I've learned something about names, great way to add a little touch of something special:) Thanks for sharing the meaning to me of "Childe" my daughter is now pregnant again, so God willing she'll have a baby this next Jan. Thank you and God Bless !

RE: Another Marshall Descendant ?
Hello Chuck! It's great to meet you! It has been really exciting to meet other Marshall descendants, especially through this site. I have seen your name on a number of the Marshall memorials on this site and I can't tell you how appreciative I have been to find all this information linked together so cleanly. It has helped as I have only just started building a genealogy file of my own. I look forward to trading information in the future!
