Thank you!
I love your bio. Yes, anything prior to him would be appreciated. I, too, thoroughly enjoy being a volunteer. Have a blessed day and be mindful of the heat and humidity!

Jane Stroud
Bailey Cemetery Troup Co. GA
This cemetery is located out from LaGrange Georgia on Hamilton Road at the I 185 junction. (Note: Hamilton road crosses both I 85 and I 185, which is a little bit confusing if you aren't careful.) It is just beyond the tree line behind the Shell Service Station.
If it hasn't been raining you should be able to drive across the field and right up to the trail. There is a small bank that you have to climb, but even my 78-year-old mother didn't have a problem making it.
The day I went the lady at the Shell station didn't know anything about the cemetery, but the people at the Huddle House (or Waffle King, or something like that) next-door pointed me in the right direction.
Good Luck!

Hi! Thanks for the update! Has anyone gone out to take the photos requests for that cemetery? I live pretty far from Troup County. But we are planning to go up there this fall to visit a safari park there, so if no one takes them by then I will see if I can find it and take them.

Ahhh Sounds like you guys are going around the gates..lol..Yeah it's easy to get to from the first gate. but he gave directions from the back side.. Just becareful because the new laws state you have to have permits to be on the property if you don't have the sportsmans license...Preacher Mike is he the preacher of the Cowboy Church there on the corner?

I hope he can get you in.. So far Noone i've talked to has been able to get on or find out why it is locked. It isn't suppose to be locked.. So i do not have a clue what is going on. But i will keep trying to get in and will let you know. If going tomorrow please be careful as it is suppose to rain all day long...You will get stuck in several places if not careful..

RE: Hearn Cemetery
Rita,
Nice Photo!
No rush on the photo. If you look at my emails, you can see the one from the couple who told me about a permit being required and were going to take the photo after you had contacted me.

A trick I learned for Find A Grave while looking for John Hearn is when you do a search, just enter only the persons last name and the state. The search engine will give you every one buried in that state, by cemetery, that is entered into the find a grave data base.

Ancestors from Birmingham
Rita,
Thanks for the suggestion to notify Sue Brasfield for information regarding my Birmingham family. I was born in Birmingham and most of my parent's families remained there. My brick wall is my paternal great grandfather, Robert Lee Burks. He just fell off the face of the earth!
Again, I appreciate your effort to locate burial sites for us!
