Lettie Love
Daniel Grantham
Grendy,

My name is Lettie Love. I believe that Daniel & Martha Maria Grantham are my ggg grandparents. I believe that they had a daughter named Martha Piety Grantham. She was born in Irwin County, Georgia & died too in Mc Coy, Florida. Do you know anything about Martha Piety? She married James C. Carlton, who was killed in the Civil War. They had 2 sons, James Alpheus (my gg grandfather) & Henry Bascom. I am trying to find out where she might be buried.

Thanks,
Lettie

Mary Gross
Gwendy,
A number of people and I are trying to locate graves at Joshua Creek that no longer have markers. Saturday, the Eagle Scouts installed 60 Funeral Home Markers of grave we have located using an old inventory done back in the 70's. Do you know if Mary had any family at all buried at Joshua? I am also using a Metal Detector and have found old Funeral Home Markers buried finding the locations. Also, doing a book on people buried at Joshua. So if you have any photos or info you would like to send to me for the book listing you as contributor please do so. The Book will be given to the Desoto County, Historical Society to display for everyone to see.

Anna Marie Dart Dupree
I searched the cemetery and did not see her. In fact I did not see any Dupree headstones unless they are one of the ones that faded. The closest was DUPUIS .

Nathan Grantham
Hi. Was Nathan's wife's name Martha Strickland? And was he the father on Daniel Grantham?

If this is the same man, his application for a Revolutionary War pension gives his age as 75 in 1834, meaning he was born in 1759, not 1751 as written on his tombstone. It also says he was born in South Carolina, but his pension statement says Dobbs County, NC.

I'm doing some research on the Grantham family and would like to know.

Dupree
Gwendy, I started researching the Dupree line many years back, abt 1992, visiting Brunswick, Glynn Co, GA, where Dr. Gee Dupree and Mary Ann Dart were before coming into Marion co, FL about 1842. I researched Marion County where the widow Mary Ann Dart remarries to Selah Hammond and her 4 sons with Dr Gee who has passed shortly after ariving in FL. Sons: Lucian Dix, Jesse Cyrus, Erastus Dart and Louis Theodore relocate to Hardee County, FL, after the big freeze. Most of my info started with a Granddau of Lucian's, and Dau of his son Horace, was living in LaBelle, where I live, and was 98 yrs old at her passing in 2000. I've communicated with Ken Dupree and have moved on to other Gen Research, but have taken the time to upload some of the pictures I've commulated during my research. Just wanted to let you know that I've added pics to "Findagrave" where our FL Duprees are located in Collier, Glades and Hardee Counties.

RE: Charles L.
This is a much sought after memorial. Normally I would respect your claim as a step daughter but others have also asked with claims. I am afraid I do not have the wisdom of Solomon so for now will say that I will maintain it and make any and all updates asked for. You of course can add him to your virtual cemetery. If you were the only one asking it would be no problem. Sorry Sue

RE: Leona Stroh
Thanks, Gwendy. I know they had a daughter Shirley, but I don't know her married name. I have so much genealogical information for them, dating back to the colonial era, that I would love to share with them.

Best wishes,
Linda

RE: Leona Stroh
Hi. You asked if that is Leona Miller Stroh in the photo with her parents. I don't know. It might be her older sister Florence. Is Leona still alive? Her father, Herbert, is my grandfather's (Lloyd Miller) brother. If you could put me in contact with someone in their family, I would greatly appreciate it. That's the only photo I have of any of them. I have tons of photos of ancestors and siblings I'd like to share with that branch of the family.

Best wishes,
Linda Jones

Benjamin Griffith # 32970756 parents were Joseph and Eleanor (Rowland) Griffith. Joseph's father was also Joseph and he died December 1799 in Montgomeryshire, Wales. That is all the info I have as to Ben's ancestors.

Ann Marie Dart-Dupree @ Flemington
I don't see the first & 4th son of Dr. Gee Dupree and Ann Dart Dupree: Jesse Cyrus Dupree (named for his maternal Grandfather, Cyrus Dart the Rev Soldier buried on St. Simons Island, GA, at the historial Christian Church there. I had located burial markers for all of their 4 sons, but Jesse Cyrus. He had one Dau that he last lived with in the Tampa area. I have her burial in Tampa, but still no record of her Father Jesse C. (Civil War/Indian War) burial inforamtion. Would love to find it, then we'll have record of all 4 Dupree sons who came with their parents from Glynn Co, GA to Marion Co, FL abt 1842. Records indicate that Ann Marie Dupree (who had remarried Selah Hammond), died at Flemington, Marion Co, FL. I did not find a marker when I visited the Flemington Bpt Ch Cem, which was the only cem I could locate in Flemington. This was years back. I have not been able to locate actual burial location for Ann Marie under Dupree or Hammond. Dr Gee Dupree is said to have died shortly after they came to FL abt 1842, it would have been in Marion County, but I found no marker or record when yrs back I visited Ft McCoy Cem and Dupree Island in Black Prarie Sink, Marion County. Ft McCoy appears to be one of the oldes cem and there is a Dupree Cem there in Ft McCoy which I also went to, however, there doesn't appear to be any Duprees buried there. I've tried to obtain history on the cem, but no success, would like to know how it got it's name, unless it was just named that because of "Dupree Island". I visited the area with Faye Perry Melton who had done reaseach and 2 books that included our Dupree/Marion county Info (Faye is now deceased and was very elderly, I want to say 81, when I visited with her). Dr Gee may have been buried on Dupree Island in Black Prarie Sink, where they were living, but I don't believe or have knowlede of any marker ever being locaed for he or Ann Marie Dart-Dupree-Hammond. I believe Selah Hammond died shortly after he married Ann Marie, as I've never found a marker for him either?

Rebecca Ann
John Henry Gross
John Henry Gross is my best friend Helen Gross-Duncan's grandfather or great grandfather, can't remember without looking at my books. I will forward the email to her and she will email you if you send me your email. I worked on her family tree for her and I also am very passionate about findagrave so I entered all of her family that I research in this site also. We are so interested in any further family info and especially any old family photo's. My email is beckyg01@yahoo.com that is a numerical zero and one. If you don't hear from me through email, it may go to my spam, so just email me again on findagrave. Thanksso much.
