RE: St Peter's Cemetery in Elmhurst
Hi Doug,

Just wanted to thank you again for transferring the management of the Elmhurst College graves to me. I've now added the cemetery and moved the folks we identified to it. I've also put on what information I currently have for each one. Yesterday I went to the College and took a picture of the oil portrait of President Meusch and added that too. Last, I've contacted the College archivist to see if she has any additional pictures or information.

If you happen to look at the memorials and see anything that needs to changed don't hesitate to let me know.

Again, thank you for your help with this project.

You requested Earl & Emma and I found their marker and will post it soon. I also found a marker for Hugo J.(1895-1982) and Marie (1906-1990) Midgley. If you would like me to post the marker for Hugo and Marie, could you please submit a request so I can claim it? Thank you.

RE: St Peter's Cemetery in Elmhurst
Thanks! You're right, there is no sign...a little something I'm working on trying to get done. The College does have a new scattering garden that they are going to dedicate Friday afternoon but no sign anywhere!

Just from an historical point, St Peter's church used to have the entire cemetery but made a donation of a small portion of it to the College many years ago. Until about eight or ten years ago there wasn't much interest in the place but that changed under President Bryant Cureton.

My hope is to add some interesting information to the memorials you set up for some of the folks there. For example, Phillip Frederich Meusch was the College's second "Inspector"...aka President. I think I may even be able to get a picture of him.

Thanks for your help. I'll email you with the list of folks.

St Peter's Cemetery in Elmhurst

I am a recently retired member of the Elmhurst College administration and a volunteer for Find A Grave. I noticed that you have set up memorials for the folks buried at St Peter's Cemetery. The pictures of the headstones are beautiful!

You may not know it but the southern portion of what you show as St Peter's Cemetery is actually the Elmhurst College Cemetery. I have a list of the folks buried there and additional information on most of them. One of my side responsibilities when I was at the College was the cemetery...go figure it!

Anyway, I would like to set up an Elmhurst College Cemetery and would appreciate it if you would transfer management of the various graves (15 in all) to me. I thought I'd ask before I sent you the list of the memorials.

Please let me know if this would be agreeable to you.

Many thanks,
Denise Jones

Hi Doug,

You posted 2 photos for Augustus Kent Barber 86382094, could you also post those photos on his wife's memorial, Anna M. Camp Barber 115802346?

Thanks so much for all you do.

Thank you

I just want to take this time and thank you so much for taking the time out for all the hard work you have done taking the pictures and gathering all the information on the graves of our love ones. I cant unfortunately go to Miners cementery when I want to visit my mom's grave, but because of you taking the picture of her grave, I can at least come on here and see it and it is like I am there. My mom was Lois Jean (Morgan) Halterman and I can also visit the grave of my beloved grandparents Worth and Grace Morgan. I live out of state so that is why this means so much to me. Again thank you for all your hard work as it is deeply deeply appreciated.

I wanted to say thank you for all your hard work. I recently found some missing pieces to my husband's ancestors through your find a grave photos. You gave me death dates, photo and name of the cemetery for some of my husband's ancestors. I appreciate your hard work!! I live in another State so this was very helpful to me.
