RE: Burgess family
Yes I'm very interested in additional photos that you have. I will send you what I have

The aunt who died in childbirth ,Augusta, name was provided by the Uhl Barger Giermann family.

RE: Burgess family
Further evidence:

The Uhl Barger Giermann family lists Charlotta as dying before 1890 in Mt. Ayr, Kansas. Since Fred and family went to St. Joe in 1881 (as a widower ) , then Charlotta must have died in 1880 (approx)

Therefore the assumption that she died in childbirth in May-June timeframe is not too far fetched.

Augusta Borges (Burgess ) listed by Uhl Barger Giermann family as born 6-18-1880 and died 7-1 1880.

Also interesting that this family knew of all aunts and uncles ( Fred's children), the babies who died in infancy, and exact dates of all the children's births and deaths, middle names, and European pronunciations such as Juliana instead of Julia.

The Germans have all the facts I think

RE: Burgess family
Another thought came to mind on G Grandpa Fred Burgess.

After all children were gone, he stayed with Aunt Sophie Kuhfus (apparently for 7 years until he died).

All data for my Grandma and Grandpa Burgess shows no evidence of his name.

I met Uncle Willie, Aunt Sophie, and Aunt Mary many times but remember no discussion of oldest sister Juliana...interesting.

I have many pictures of the Burgess siblings and will share with you if interested.

I have all family pics left from my mother and grandma from 1890's to 1960's

RE: Burgess family
I only recently came up with following info:

Fred ( my G Grandfather ) emigrated from Hanover in 1871

He first went to Waverly, Iowa with his family. That is where my Grandpa Henry Burgess was born in 1872

He then went to Mt. Ayr, Kansas in 1880.

Since Charlotta had a baby (Augusta ) in May, 1880 and she died in or around that period, I assumed that she died immediately following birth. I infer here that Charlotta died in childbirth. The 1880 census is dated June 2 or 3 and has a note that a baby was born on May.

Fred and family went to St. Joseph in 1881 and he is listed as a widower

My Grandpa married Alice Palmer in 1893 in St. Joe and my mother (Myrtle Burgess White )was the youngest in their family LW

Blake Family
I noticed you have created several memorials for individuals with the last name of Blake buried at Ashland Cemetery in St. Joseph, Missouri. Would you please take a look at the memorial for Wilma Adell Blake Wells, #98822696, and let me know if you think there may or may not be any connection to those that you have created. Wilma is my great-grandmother and I would like to correspond with anyone who is connected and/or related to the family and may possibly have photos or any information on her life.

RE: Martin P. Groom
That's right. He died in 1861, just a few days short of his birthday. I have been emailing Donna, too. I think I gave her his date of death, but I'll check.

RE: Burgess family information
Thanks for trying. My husband's great grandfather was William and I believe he was Frederick's brother but I just don't know a lot about him. My husband's father has passed away and he never got a lot of information on his side of the family. I am just trying to help him out. If you happen to find out anything or know where I can look please let me know. Thanks. It is nice to meet family. Have a good day.

James Hawkins
HI

My apologies for the delay in contacting you. I would just like to say a big thank you for the photo of James Hawkins' grave in Mt Carmel, Clinton County. He is my gt-gt-gt grandfather. He emigrated to USA in 1856 with some of his children, and I am finding out more about his family all the time. AS distance is a problem, I am in Australia, this photo means a lot.

Many thanks again

Les Hawkins

You can contact me directly at DonnaL@cox.net.
I would sure like to know the exact location of the cemetery too. I have been searching for the burial location of several of my Grooms and Daniels relative that live near Gower, MO for years. They could be part of that overgrown 100.
Is it okay with you if a add that line about line to the cemetery discription?
