Thanks, Don! I appreciate your efforts in finding the marker. I've asked the original contributor to update the record to show a marker has been found. Thanks, again! - Erik

THIS MARKER IS INDEED!!!!!!
G. D. SHOTT! (GRANVILLE DUDLEY SHOTT!)
NOT! C. D. SHOTT

YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW LONG I'VE BEEN TRYING TO SOLVE THIS MYSTERY! THIS PICTURE DID IT!
THE RECORD ON FILE OF C. D. SHOTT WAS WRONG ALL ALONG! Ever since I started ancestry work in 2009!
BIG HUG AND THANK YOU, YOU ARE AMAZING!

C.D.Shott
Don,

I was told there was nothing to be found in East Maplewood Cemetery in Madison Co. Ind. for C. D. Shott and you found it and what a head stone! Thank You! That's one fantastic head stone!
Now I just need to figure out who C D Shott was amongst my Ancestors. There is one Grand Uncle, Granville Shott, that is not accounted for, I believe there is a possibility it could be him, I have no record of him past that year, so it could be him or perhaps this C. D. Shott was a wife to someone. So I'm still in question why only the initials for C. D. Shott.
When I wrote to Madison Co. Historical society about C. D. Shott they told me there was no C. D. Shott in Maplewood only a S.D. Shott. I have no idea where they got that information but they did say he died of alcoholism in a Hospital and gave me the year of 1909/1910. Then I asked for a picture of that gravestone and they said there was nothing left due to vandalism. Only pictures on record but nothing for my request.

When did you find this and how? This is amazing!
Thank You so much for posting the Marker, more than a marker! WOW! Regards, Mary Shott Stegman
