RE: Harrison family
Since your kind response I have purchased a copy of the two books that I believe will help and with which our ancestor had previously done some research. "Georgia Faye" and the "Settlers by the Long Grey Trail"...so much information in these two. I hope that at some time I will find the "link" we have all been looking for. It is said the Phebee was a cousin of the "presidents" and that at about 8 or 9 years of age she was "bound out" to a family named Gilmore that lived near Cincinnati. At this point we have not yet found her. I would assume that since she was bound out, that one or both of her parents had died. She was born in New Jersey in 1816. I will keep looking but if you ever run across her in your papers please do let me know!!! Thank you. Kathy Brown mlfamilytree@yahoo.com

RE: Decie Merwin Bechdolt
Carter,
I am not directly related to Decie but I feel like I am. Decie had one brother Hubert John Merwin II who the family called Dig. Dig married my great-aunt Ellen Armistead Johnson. The lived on the family farm 5 miles east of Downtown Knoxville. My grandfather William McNutt Johnson lived in the house next door also on the same farm. In 1965 my family moved back in with my grandparents when I was 4 years old and I grew up there next door to Dig, Ellen, their family and Ellen's sister Margaret "Peg". I never met Decie as she died a month before I was born but heard many stories about her. She and her husband Jack are buried in the same lot in Old Gray with her parents and grandparents. I have quite a few pictures of her as well as articles and a book she illustrated. Would love to hear more about the trip to England with your aunt. Would also be glad to share anything you wish. Look forward to hearing from you again. You can email me at billnlexie@knology.net.

Harrison family
We have been working on my husband's family for a few years now and have known that somehow he is related to the Harrison family through his Paternal GGGrandmother Phebe Harrison who married John Bearnes. She is said to be a cousin the the "presidents"....Please allow us to use this wonderful photo of Simeon in our search ....thank you for your work on this...
