Yes, I received your email. Sorry for the delay, was out of town and super busy at the event I was attending. Yes, go ahead and use the photos; I'd be honored to be given credit. The Civil War is very near and dear - my 2x Great Grandfather survived Andersonville. I checked out the website you mentioned and I'll see if I can find any more in my area while I'm out and about.

I don't have 100% proof,but there are Perry stones next to that stone and there is a flag with a Civil War marker on the side to this stone. My picture isn't very good, but I can go back and re-take the picture with a better picture of the flag if you would like?

I looked at cemetery records for the Grand View Cemetery.
Alonzo Mattison is listed as long as his wife, but there is no plot location for him. I am thinking the stone is gone or they are unmarked in the Mattison lot next to the other Mattison buried there.
As for Frank Armell, he isn't listed in the cemetery records, but his wife is. Again with no plot location.

Heidi - What a good question - It's been 3 or 4 years ago that we were looking for ancestors in Candia. We went to the library and the gentleman there gave us wonderful directions. The cemetery is a small one off the road. My suggestion is to check at the library or at town offices. I'd like to go back now that we are living in NH. Good luck!

Hi, I'm straightening out the 2 Lydia Todd's in cemetery. Lydia Frost Todd is misidentifed. The picture is for Naomy Todd. I made out N and Oct. I created a memorial for her in March but I will delete this. I sent the suggest a corrections to change name and fix husband & children add dates. Very confusing. Just giving you a heads up in case you're wondering what the heck is going on.

Hi Heidi, Mr. Cave is my grandfather's brother. I noticed that the photo of his grave shows a different name. It says Theodore Lawton. Is there any chance you could find the correct photo and put it in there? It's in Beaverdale Memorial Park in New Haven, CT.

Thank you for the offer, she is however a side relation of mine. I was working on my ancestor her mother in law (also Rebecca Mix) who's death date is being confused with this Rebecca's. Thanks for the memorial and updates.

I have a question regarding the tombstone for Thankful Todd. (Find A Grave Memorial# 79768023). It's hard for me to read the tombstone. I can tell it says "wife of", but can't figure out who it says her husband was. I have a Thankful Todd in my family tree that died in New Haven, Connecticut in 1770 and whose husband was: Gideon Todd. I don't know where she was buried and am wondering if this is my Thankful Todd.

|Charlene Crosthwaite||George Macha|
His actual name is George Messier, he is the son of Joseph Gabriel Messier and Marie-Louise Lussier. He was born in Roxton Falls, Quebec, Canada. He was living in Vermont when the Civil War broke out and signed up to fight. I have a photo of him in his Civil War uniform that was taken in Middlebury, Vermont. After the war, he returned to western MA. There he married Marie-Philomene Brousseau (Phebe Bruso) the 26th of May 1867 in Chester, MA. For a while he worked in the Emery mines along side his brothers and brother-in-law, John Elliott (who was a mine supervisor). Later he and Phebe would move to Fall River, MA. This couple had 16 children. They purchased a house in Columbia, CT. In 1901 Phebe died in Fall River, MA. George married Marie-Louise DeLorme in 1902. About 1904 or 1905 George purchased the farm house at 7 Main Street. George and Marie would died in that house and the house went into the hands of my grandfather, David Napoleon Macha. George and Phebe's youngest son, Frederick served and died in World War 1. He is listed on the monuments here in Willimantic. I believe Fred's death may have been what caused George to have a stroke. Phebe is related to the large group of Brousseau that live in this area. George had a brother, Peter/Pierre who married Flora Rudd. Peter/Pierre and Flora's son, James Herbert Macia had a son, James Herbert "Herbie" Macia who became one of James Doolittle's raiders in World War 11. James Sr. and James Jr. lived in Arizona.
