RE: Gerwig headstone photos
Thanks very much, Don.
They're my 3rd great grandparents as well!
I am descended from Christina E. Gerwig Wise who is one of Jacob & Christina's children. So, we are cousins to some degree. Small world!
I will seek some of that info from you after the Holidays.
Ciao for now,
Merry Christmas,
Ellicott City

Gerwig headstone photos
Hi Don,
I am writing to ask permission to use the headstone photos for Jacob F. Gerwig (75153668) and Christina Lehmann Gerwig (75153733). They are distant ancestors and I would like to add the photos to these two individuals' records in my Family Tree Maker.
Thanking you in advance,
Happy Holidays,
John Latchford Beck

RE: George Cronise Holtz - Glade Cemetery
Don, you're right about the birthdate for George. His sister was born two months after him!!!!! That would be a surprise for the mother, huh?

I went on the Maryland, Births and Christenings Index, 1662-1911, and found out it is 1856.

Thanks for pointing that out. Sometimes you need another person to look at something and say, "Wait a minute, that can't be." Then you take the time to look at the big picture and see where you have gone wrong.

It's getting colddddd up here in New York. Winter is on its way. Perfect time to sit inside with hot chocolate and work on genealogy.

RE: George Cronise Holtz - Glade Cemetery
Don, Thank you for making the effort to find his gravesite. I really do appreciate it. Do I have your permission to cite your message to me about the gravesite and the sunken area in my for George?

I think it will be informative to anyone looking for him.

RE: Jonathan Thompson
I did take the picture of her headstone. Do you have a memorial page for her, or do you want me to add it to Jonathan's? There was also a daughter, but I could barely read the headstone. Mother and daughter are both named Jennie.

You are very welcome. It was a neat old cemetery and of particular interest to me because I have Warfields on my fathers side.

Daniel James Cemetery
Don - hello. THANKS for the picture uou posted a of the James-Kimmel Cemetery in Frederick County, MD - at Find A Grave Memorial# 84703594.

I've got a few questions - if you can help:
Do you live in the area of the Cemetery that you were able to picture?

Did you have to get permission to go on the property to take it?

If you did, do you have a contact?

I have been trying for the last 3 days to find someone to let me know about the cemetery and what it takes to have it cleaned up. I know it's on private property; however, it is also on the List of Maryland Historic Trust Properties.

I was about to contact someone about perhaps getting a local volunteer group to clear and weed the cemetery, but thought I'd contact you first.

Margaret Becraft James, mother of Daniel was sister to my 4x great-grandmother, Esther Becraft WRIGHT [the start of my WRIGHT family in America.

Hope to hear from you. Thanks, again for the picture.
