Confederate Memorial Park
Steve,
I found an address for you on the POW Memorial Bricks application for Point Lookout. I could not locate a phone number. I am attending a "cousins" reunion of a Point Lookout survivor (Lt. Evans Atwood in two weeks. I visited Point Lookout this past winter and discovered the memorial.

I would like to know if it is still possible to order a brick for our ancester to be included at the memorial. It looked like there was still room for more. At the reunion I will 1)confirm that no one has already done this [I didn't have time to read all the bricks] and 2)to report your reply.

Thank you for taking the photo!
Do you have any idea what the script inscription at the bottom of the tombstone says? I can't quite make it out.

RE: Thank you for the photo!
Glad you like them! And please make sure to check out the other Dodsons that I came across - they may help fill in some blanks for you. Also, if they're your kin, feel free to put in requests for transfers (or photo requests). My best, Cor.

RE: Thank you!
Stephen;
My pleasure to be of service to you. In the area surrounding that large "Matthews" headstone there are probably twenty or so members of the Matthews family lying at rest side by side. If there is someone on that side of the family you are looking for they are probably right there.

Sincerely;
Samuel Shelly

My apologies if I had not written you back. Thank you for searching the cemetery. I am guessing now that he had no headstone. Thank you again for taking time to search. Thank you for all that you do for Find a grave.

sincerely,

Jill Souter

Clancey family tree (Continued)
Sorry I accidentally sent message too soon.

I have a family tree online. Let me know if you would to like to be a member. It's private - members only and , therefore, your info is private.

I live in Buffalo suburb of Cheektowaga. I am off to Halifax next Saturday and will be staying with a Kline cousin for a week.

Hope you are family and can fill me in on the Charles - John family.

Clancey family tree
Stephen,

Are you a grandson of Charles DeFreytas? My mother, Audrey Clancey Foisset, was a 1st cousin of Charles and John DeFreytas. Even though my grandfather Clancey moved to the States back in 1906, my mother did manage to meet some of the family in Canada.

Yes, there are some real mixups.... the person who made most all the memorial pages { A Seeker} I think must have taken notes & transcribed them.... probably mixed a bunch up when he/she got tired.... Hopefully, the edit messages I've sent him to correct dates/ names today will get done.

Happy hunting,
Diane

RE: S J Holliday
It is strange about the dates; but i also had a family of Hoags today & all their dates & names were mixed up. I'm just glad that you SJ got straightened out.

RE: S J Holliday
Hi,

After I got your message earlier, I decided to check a few more sources. So on the website --http://files.usgwarchives.net/ca/mendocino/cemeteries/ukiah-h.txt

There is a listing for Stonewall Jackson Holliday--

Holliday, Stonewall Jackson 03/10/1864 11/13/1924 T [tomb -stone]

As you can see the B/D dates are different.

So I went back thru the plot photos I took when I uploaded previous Hollidays and found his! I have posted it to the memory page & let the site manager know to correct his dates.

So glad the mystery was solved.

Diane

S J Holliday
Hi Stephen,

I have uploaded your photo today. It is of the Holliday family plot in the Ukiah Cemetery. There is no marker for Stonewall, but according to the office he is buried in this plot. So sorry I was unable to get a headstone photo.

Regards
Diane
