RE: Ima Ruth Lee Sherman
Thank you for adding her family information. I really don't have additional information about her, so I don't need a transfer. I was just glad that I found where she was. I didn't know they had a baby and couldn't understand why she was not buried with her parents.
Thank You again,
Marie

You had posted a headstone photo to Mr Mowdy's page at Altus Cemetery # 23063324. The page should be posted to his son's page #39090941 who passed in 2009. Could you please move the photo? Thank you, Red

Rhonda - I may have missed thanking you for entering her headstone photo. I'm auditing some old emails and didn't want to not thank you even though this may be so very late in coming. I'm still thankful for your kind efforts.
Best Regards - Doug Sorensen

RE: Elmer OK
I am able now to get to it. They only show 6-7 known graves. Mother said there was (a style?) steps on each side of the fence to go on to the school house. She did say the school house was on top a hill and that is what the site says. Thank you again for helping me.

My Mother was a tiny person and may have gone to school early during aunt Mag. being sick. Mother was scared when they went through the cemetery because the older kids would say aunt Mag. was going to reach up through the grave. A man hid behind a tombstone one day and came out with a gun and told them it was going to stop and it did. That scared the kids that were doing it. I am trying to put the time and place line together. Did you send me something other than what you wrote?

My great uncle Charlie Redmon and his wife Mag. lived on Luther Gray's place and Mag. died. My grandmother & children lived in a tent there. My grandmother took care of Mag. until she died and Mag. is buried between there and Pike where the children around there went to school. They had to go through the cemetery to get to the school. Does any of that fit in with one of the cemetery's you mentioned?

RE: Elmer OK
Thank you for the Elmer information. Would anyone have pictures of the town when it was a town? A book of Durant came out this year with pictures and ect. I like seeing and reading about places that were and now gone, especially where some of my family lived. I would still like to come out there sometime when the weather is warm. It is funny how we feel close to family that we never met.

Rhonda, thank you so much. You are a sweetheart. What a Christmas present!!! I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year.
I think you told me the Post Office is still there and still in business. The town must have been a nice size at one time. Is any of the town still there beside the Post Office?

RE: Jessie Amanda Hewitt Roberts
Hi Rhonda,
Thanks for answering me.
After Jessie died, at some point, Mr. Roberts, as I always called him, came to Lovington, New Mexico. He was the publisher of our local paper and married my Aunt, whose husband had died while driving cattle to be shipped, in 1918 . (I think it was Kansas City, not sure.)
So I am not a blood relative, and I never knew any of his and Jessie's children. You could transfer it to me, and if I do find one of his descendants I could transfer it to them, if that is ok.
My Find a Grave # is 47111643
Thanks
Joy

Jessie Amanda Hewitt Roberts
Would suggest you might want to edit the obit to show she was the wife of Luke Roberts, rather than Luke Rogers.
Thanks
