RE: Howell Ruth
Hi, Ann,

I contacted you a few months ago concerning Abner Howell, thinking that your Abner and my Abner were the same person. However, I think they are in fact two different people. My ancestor, Abner Howell, was born in 1739 and died in 1812. Do these dates fit in with any of your research? It all gets a little confusing trying to go so far back in history.

I'm still working on this, but please contact me if you think we might have a common ancestor.

thanks,
Anne

RE: Anna McDaniel Reynolds, Nickell
Thank you for Anna's corrections, and your response. I can find a record of only one child born to James and Anna Reynolds. Eva Grace, b. 12-4-1902 in Monroe. That record reflects she was first child born to them, and if there were later ones they are apparently not recorded in Monroe.

Hi Ann,

Sorry I haven't found a connection to Virginia for the HARMONS (my husband's family). His people came from North Carolina through Kentucky.

My husband's great great great grandfather, Henry Harmon, was Born 1787 in NC; married Mary 'Polly' Glass in Henry Co, KY in 1813 and died in Johnson Co, IN in 1857.

I did notice their passing within a month of each other and thought how very sad for this family. You seem like a good friend and both are blessed because of it.

The new fence is ready to go in, just waiting for the man to do it! It looks like a cemetery! Go to WV Cemetery Preservation Association site, there are pics!

RE: Mary Alice Nickell Taylor
Hi Ann,
After she married Charles N. Bailey and he passed away she married Samuel J. Taylor on 9 Oct 1919. he died in 1934 and is buried in same cemetery.

Mary Alice Nickell
Prior to Mary Alice marrying Charles she had a child, Tempest Hill Nickell, on 11 Jan 1889 in Ashland, Boyd, Kentucky. I think she was staying with her brother, John Lomas Nickell, when she had the child. This makes me think it was out of wedlock. The father is only listed on Tempest marriage record as Floyd, I can find him no where else. She married Charles less than 2 years later and Tempest was living with his Grandfather, Christopher M. Nickell in 1900 census.

Hello,
Are you related to the James and Amanda Fifer family from VA? They are my 3 great grandparents. I have listed Jacob and Ann Fifer as their parents but I'm not sure. Thank you, Charlene

These older memorials weren't her when I made my entries. I'm guessing that there was a cemetery merge or they weren't assigned to a cemetery when originally created. I'll remove them.

Mary is my Great Grandmother (Maternal). This side of my family is a bit confusing, so I would feel more comfortable if you asked specific questions about people. I will gladly share what I have and let you know on things not verified yet.
