Hannah Graves

Back in December you asked me if I knew where Amos Graves wife was buried. I am not sure that I answered you at the time. This is her memorial in the same cemetery, but since she shared a stone with Amos, and it is gone, her stone is no longer available either.

The name you gave me was Hannah Canaday Graves, but the memorial states Hannah Kennedy Graves #11256226. You can let the memorial owner know the correct name.

Dan Phelan
John Dorn 2000
Hi Joyce,
I was at New Cathedral Cemetery Baltimore yesterday, and the office said that they did not have a record of any Dorn's being buried after 1959 (or maybe it was any John Dorn's being buried after 1959?).
You have John in Plot: 74, Siffox U, but I've never heard of a 'Siffox'. Is that the same as a section? Is he buried with anyone else there? You might want to double check with the cemetery office on that plot.
Good luck,
Dan Phelan

Margaret Sullivan edit
You sent an edit to add maiden name of Hess, but the Margaret Sullivan you sent it for died at 5 days and wouldn't have a maiden name

RE: John Turner
Sorry it's taking so long. I'm having trouble reading the inscription. I'm going to have to do a tracing. I'll have to learn how to do one first. By the way, I went back over my photos and found a headstone for a John C. Turner. I apologize. He is buried with a Meta A.. His dates are 1861 - 1933 though. I'll get those pictures up of Cynthia and J W Turner's headstones and work on the inscriptions as I get them.

I went to Oakwood Cemetery today to look for your Knuppe requests.
I did put captions on the photos I posted, but wanted to make sure you got a clear picture of what is going on.
Alfred and Esther do not have markers. After alot of digging around in records the cemetery staff found that AJ Knuppe had purchased plot(s), the one we know for sure was for an infant.
Records back at the time for that cemetery can be sketchy, and possibly researching them more -may- bring forth better information. For one I would aquire the death certificates which should show where the remains were interred. If they were cremations, records here can be even more sketchy.
The infant we were able to determine is next to Barbara Knuppe, and the infant child of Roscoe and Hazel Knuppe. I only learned of Roscoe and Hazel after returning home so I do not know if they are buried at Oakwood, but at present they do not show up in the search of records.
That being said, Ada and Barbara did not either initally, it was only after I got to the site and was on the phone with the office relaying information back and forth that it was determined that the last name had been spelled wrong (Kunppe). That has been fixed now, but as you can tell there are errors in the older records and whether or not further investigation would produce more results is had to say.
If you have any questions about this I can try to answer them, you could also call Jody at the cemetery 253 473 1264.
Sorry I could not provide further, hope this helps.

RE: John Turner
No it's just called Magnolia Cemetery. It's the city cemetery. It just happens to be behind the baptist church.

John Turner
I searched Magnolia Cemetery and did not find a grave marker or headstone with Mr. John Turner's name. BUT... I found two headstones, one for Cynthia Jane, wife of a J. W. Turner and one for J. W. Turner. Not sure if this is your person. The dates don't match though. This one was born in 1854. There are some graves that have not been marked. So he could still be there. There is a historical society here in Magnolia that is in charge of the cemetery now. You may get in touch with them.

Vivian Moldovan Memorial
I am providing both a front & back view of her grave marker. You should note that she is actually interred in the Old St. Martins Catholic Cemetery, not the New St. Martins Cemetery.

Dale Benjamin Mellott
RE: Samuel Hess
Mary Dishong, probably not. All my data has her as Mellott. I still have not been able to tie her into the Mellott's.
However there seems to be a problem with Samuel Hess. I looks like your memorial #78215493 is a duplicate of memorial # 15889951. Your memorial does correct his birth date to 1821 which makes more since based on his spouses age.
I still want to check through the Dishong's to see what I can find.

Amos Graves in Hoag Cemetery
Inscriptions were copied from this cemetery in 1920-1925, and at the time it was indicated that there was a stone for Amos, but it either no longer exists, or is now unreadable. Sorry.

If I understand the question . . .

Carl had four sons, one of which is Warren Galiel Hess.
Warren is my father.

Let me know if I missed the boat.

RE: Hess Family
You can also find her memorial by going to Ephraim Hess and going to her memorial. Every thing is connected after that.

She was buried in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. It's in Cooper County, Missouri. I don't know how to explain where it is.

RE: Mattie Belva
Hi, Sunset's number is (432)614-1699 .She was buried next to a Eunice Wood Moore(3/18/1920--#/14/1970).No other Moore or Bader was buried near her. I only live about 10 minutes from our library,if you want I can go try to find an obit for Mattie,to see if it mentions a husband.

Rolla Mellott
Regarding this memorial # 13694144; I don't know the answer to your question, but I now have questions. Thanks (lol)

Anyhow, this Ruth F. that Rolla is married to; I don't think she is Ruth Foreman Mellott. I almost thought they were one in the same. There is 10 years difference between Ruth F and Ruth Foreman.

However, I do think Ruth Foreman Mellott was married 2 times, Cadiz and Silas. I connected them, at least for now. If you are searching this family I will be glad to join you as winter sets in. Right now I am busy with some reunions but they will be done by the end of September.
