William James Newton
Looking for more info on William James Newton. Trying to find more on his marriage, proof ?, to Cynthia Elizabeth Massy Newton (2nd marriage to McQuirt) and family. My grandmother had in her notes that William James and Cynthia were married and had child, Mary Virginia Newton (my gg grandmother) who married James Thomas Pelham, 17 Dec 1876 in Macon CO, GA. I find in the 1850 census in Macon CO, GA, William James with parents, Daniel (Jeptha) and Elizabeth (Brown) Newton. In 1860 Taylor CO, GA, William J. Newton,24, and Cynthia (Syntha Massey), 21, with children Mary V., 3, and William G., 1.
Mary Virginia's obit states she was born in reared in Taylor CO, GA, although no parents are listed, so think I have the family connected.

Tim Puckett
Thomas Hobby Puckett
Hi Karen - there are two Thomas Puckett's that get mixed up on a lot of trees. The Thomas you have listed I believe has a father of Richard Puckett. He did go by Thomas Hobby Puckett. As you read through the reference "Roots and Branches of some of the Puckett's, it does state this. It says that Thomas's wife is Mary but no last name. Anyway, it is a little unclear about some of the details of Thomas - even the middle name Hobby.

Now the Thomas Puckett who was born in 1745 and died in 1805 had parents of Isham Puckett and Martha Page. There is another book called "Thomas Puckett of Travis County, Republic of Texas" that describes this Thomas. You can get this book on Family Search. Thomas's descendants eventually move to Indiana and end up in Texas

I would love to communicate with you to see if we can come to an agreement on these two gentleman. Maybe I am missing something.

Eleanor "Nellie" Lee Glazener
Hi! I put in a photo request some time ago (before I transferred her to you). Just received an e-mail

We are writing to let you know that a Find A Grave volunteer has reported a problem with your photo request for Eleanor Glazener.

The general problem they reported is:
I searched the entire cemetery and could not find the grave

Your photo request is still active and has not been removed. Hopefully, another contributor can fulfill your request. If you can fix the problems that were reported or have additional information that might help a volunteer photographer, please delete this request and create a new one, adding the additional information you have.

Link to your photo requests:

So, I have decided to delete the photo request for that cemetery. Noticed your comment regarding her location in that cemetery. You could change it to Unknown.

RE: grave marker
thank you so much for the update and all the information on the Glazeners being on facebook and the family reunion. I'd really like to pursue the headstone idea with them. it is only fitting that one be installed so future generations will know for a certainty the final resting place of George.

what a wonderful find. I'm grateful for all that has been done for our progenitors. what are your thoughts about starting a fund for a new head stone for George?

RE: Johann and Anna Glessener
I was told years ago by a Glessner family researcher that they were buried there according to either county or cemetery historical records, but my computer crashed a few years ago and I lost all the info he sent. I know they did live in Brothersvalley and that was the cemetery for their religious denomination in the area.

RE: James Harvey Gibson #34722731
Hi Karen

I don't have a lot on that Gibson line as I haven't spent a lot of time on his line. I got his parents from his death certificate & helped validate with census information.

I know James' burial place as my grandmother's sister, Hellen Fraley, lived to be 100 & remembered where her aunt Eleanor Fraley Gibson was buried.

James Harvey Gibson's father was William K Gibson born 1814/1815 in NC. His mother was Mary Gilliam born in VA.

William & Mary (Polly) were married in Scott Co VA on Apr 23 1835. They lived in Scott Co VA per the 1850 census and had moved to Morgan Co KY by 1860 census. I don't find them past the 1880 census (still in Morgan Co KY)nor have I found any death information.

Per census information, James had at least 11 siblings.

James Harvey
Elizabeth J
William E
Ezekiel M
Alexander M
Thomas T
Mary A
Nelson or Melvin (listed differently)
Joseph H
Charles Wesley
Francis Marion

I know what it is like to hit a wall so I hope you eventually find more information on the Gibsons.

Hi! The reference that was on the memorial page had been changed by Joe Cowart. Above the the correct reference, and we have amended the memorial accordingly.

Would you be interested in "adopting" her memorial?

Here are other Glazeners that we have entered as well. If any are related (or family friends), we'd be overjoyed to transfer them to you!

There's nobody like a relative or good friend to treasure the memorials for these loved ones!
