RE: Transfer request
Sorry Jeff, no memorial # because these two have not been done yet. Maybe I am using 'transfer request' incorrectly. I would like to request that a Find-A-Grave memorial be established for these two relatives. Can you help with that?

Robert "Bob" William Bernacchi
Hello, I noticed there are 2 memorials for Robert William Bernacchi. On the newer one, you added a photo for the plot. Would you please add that photo that you posted on Find A Grave Memorial# 96752377 to Find A Grave Memorial# 7616155? I just emailed the creator of the 2nd memorial and asked him to delete it. Thanks very much. Sam

Hi Jeff, Looks like you have been a busy Man! Great Job! I wonder what your thoughts may be on this one. If you look at Carrie McElheney Kingsbury's (memorial #63959845), her obit shows her survived by a son, Edward Swetland. Could this Edward Swetland be him? Thanks for all you do! Mark Weitzel

Help & Advise
Hello Jeff,
Since you are working in the Woodland Cem., I'm wondering if you would have any knowledge of someone that is buried there. I was at his funeral, and for the life of me I can't remember which one it was. I think it was the Cem on what we used to call 5th street,(now L.V.Blvd, NO) is that Woodland ? just at the top of the hill by the Dairy.

His name was Leo Wolf B: 1905 in IL, D: 3-1977.

Any help or advise will be appreciated, I hope it is OK that I have written you, if not, Please Excuse me.

Dear Jeff,

I believe Hazel's entry is not correct for my
Charles Martin Stafford (1873-1937) as a spouse.
I have Charles obit and verified at Norwalk Union Cemetery. On the photo you submitted it list Charles D. Stafford not C-I know sometimes even the markers can be wrong but I do not think so in this case. If you agree please remove her as his spouse.
Thank you, Pat

RE: Braucher
Hi Jeff,
My regular email is, I can send you an invite to my Ancestry Tree. My GG was Harry Braucher who died in a fire trying to save his furniture store. His father was Franklin S Braucher who left PA and went to Lincoln, IL where Harry was born. And yes, via Franklin we all trace back to Christopher.

Would also like to see what you have on Ancestry to compare notes. Sorry for slow response.

Gregory Daniels

RE: Braucher
Yes Gregory, we are indeed related. Your Great Grandfather Harry H. Braucher was the son of Jonas Braucher (1817-1894). Jonas is the brother of my 3rd GG Father John Braucher (1811-1885).

They trace all the way back to Christopher Braucher (1729-1793) our 6th GG Father. He is buried at New Bethel Church in Kempton PA. I visited the various cemeteries in Berks County, PA (where the first Braucher's from Germany landed in America). I photographed nearly every Braucher graves stone in the county and have posted them to Find-a-Grave.

I attended a church service at Bethel Lutheran Church in 2011 that celebrated the 250th anniversary of the founding of the church. Christoper was one of the founding elders of the church.

The Braucher's did not remain in Berks County for too many generations. By 1800 they had begun to migrate to the frontiers of Ohio and then on to Indiana and Iowa. The biggest concentration is in Stark County Ohio. The Mudbrook Cemetery in Stark County, OH has nearly a hundred Braucher graves. In 2010/2011 I was able to visit Stark County and photograph several thousand gravestones in the cemeteries where Braucher's are buried. Throw in the families they married into, and nearly everyone in that cemetery is a relative.

Any Braucher research material you could share with me would be greatly appreciated. I have quite a bit of material up on

Look forward to hearing from you again.

Braucher Line
Hello Cousin. We are a bit far removed, but I am a descendant of the Bailey, Dietrich Line. Maria Barbara (Polly) Dietrich from my line married Christian Braucher. They had a daughter Matilda Braucher who married Benneville Dietrich. Their son, Charles Wilson Dietrich married Ellamanda Lydia Kamp. Their Daughter Edna Matilda Dietrich was my Grandmother.

Would you like to connect? I am Meredith Bailey, Edna Matilda married George Benjamin Bailey, who's son was Glenn Vinton Bailey. Glenn married Dorothy Mae Bear/Gring and I am their daughter.

RE: Woodlawn
Hi Jeff,

Thanks for the holiday wishes. Same to you and your family.

My work at Woodlawn has slowed down quite a bit as I'm focusing on my book project right now.
I started at Woodlawn in the rear section (next to Bruce Street).

So far I've have completed the following sections: Cypress 4/Pinyon West; Pinyon; Cypress 3 section (all); Redwood…. most of this is done, just have a few more to add here. Since I've been doing the back area I see that there have been some new interments which I need to add.

Thanks for your work and efforts also.

Later in 2014 I should be picking my pace back up after I get back from a research trip to Georgia (I'll be doing some grave sites while there, for my book research).

I was glad to see you put a headstone on Henry's grave. I have been searching forever it seems to find out what happened to him! Thanks to find a grave I found him!
I think his wife is buried there also, somewhere, her name is Nellie & she died in 1984. So IF you come across her?
I have contacted Bradley about a transfer since Henry is a cousin. Will see if he responds?

Thank you very much for the transfers. These are my great-grandfather's parents. My grandmother, Ruby Slote Monasmith used to tell us stories about her father, Samuel. He was very secretive about his past, but he did tell her he was orphaned as a boy, and was sent to live with his uncle Jacob in Ohio. Later in life, when people asked him where he was from, he told them he was from Chicago, or Ohio, or Pennsylvania, depending on his mood. After leaving Ohio, Samuel never had any further contact with his family.

Hi Jeff. Miracle Mile Tim referred me to you since I have been doing work on the Woodlawn cemetery. I would like to help with this project. I see in your comments what sections you have been working on.

I don't have a layout of the cemetery but have been working on the sections near the back...near Bruce Street. You can contact me at if you would like to coordinate our work together.

Hi Jeff,

This one was tricky! Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I have decided to leave the memorial, only because that is what the headstone shows, but in an effort to eliminate confusion for someone who may find this memorial, I have linked the correct memorial and both of his parents to mine, so that they may find the correct information. I have credited Jill, who was the original author, and posted your picture giving you credit for the photo. If you would like to post the picture yourself, I'll gladly remove the duplicate. Please take a took at the page and see if this would be an acceptable solution, or should I do more to help his family find him? Two heads are better than one!

Chana Malka
I uploaded the stone for Chana Malka. I also have David it you would like me to upload it to his memorial.
There were a stone in front of each little stone which was in English. I also have the two in front which has Kohane on each and the rest is in yiddish. I guess the little stone is actually a foot stone?
