Gholson's in Walla Walla
Hi There!

I am the proud and humbled owner of an old homestead that was originally settled by Nathaniel S. Gholson, who appears to be your 3rd counsin x2 removed. I am wondering if you have any information regarding his family tree? Parents names and place of birth? I believe he was born in either Iowa or Illinois, and would love to know more about the man who settled the land I am lucky to now call home.

Any information you can provide will be greatly appreciated!

You're welcome, I wish they had headstones, but all too often graves in this cemetery are not marked.

Anthony Gholson
Dear Sir:

"First", I thank you for your service in OUR MILITARY. May Our Lord Continue To Bless You And Your Family.

I am a direct (blood line of Anthony Gholson) from Virginia and I think JANE was his wife. I lost My Gholson, Golson & Golsan Family Book compiled by James M. Black Our Morman Cousin. He was a wonderful Cousin and Person. We talked by phone and wrote lots of letters.

Any way I am from Anthony Gholson from Virginia and please can you help me with my GHOLSON & Golson Families. It would be a blessing.

I live in Mobile, Alabama.

Praying to hear from you very soon.

Blessings In Christ

Hi! Regarding your photo request, can you please contact the cemetery and obtain the Section, Lot, and Grave Number information, and then post it to your request? Please also ask if there is a grave marker and add that information to your photo request and/or memorial. The Find A Grave FAQs state the photo requestor is responsible to provide this information.

Elmwood Cemetery: (708) 453-0273

This cemetery provides extremely limited assistance to photo volunteers with finding a grave's location. Last year I was able to fulfill almost 200 photo requests at Elmwood through this process. Because the lots in this cemetery are poorly marked, almost no one else ever photographs here. I have only had success here because I have spent literally weeks at a time to learn the intricacies of the layout of this cemetery.

Thank you for helping me to help you.

RE: Richard Lundy III
Hi, Richard,

Happy New Year!

Yes, I'd love to have a look at your tree. I believe I am a 7th great granddaughter of Richard III Lundy, but I still need to collect a lot of documentation to prove it. I'd love to look at your tree on Ancestry, if you'd like to "invite" me. Thanks for the note.

Ray Thornton
RE: Rays
Hi Richard,

This is a follow up from my last post. What I am seeking to find, not Thornton, but Boones. In my stepsister's family, her maternal line are Boones. In 1910, there are:

D Florence Boone 39
Price Boone 20
May Robbie Boone 2
James Boone 0
[2/12]
Martha Boone 77

Living with your family.

Do you know how they might be related to each other. They and the Mcclungs are all living together.

Monica Lawrence
Mr Tisdale, I recently was taking photos in Forest Park East Cemetery for Find A Grave to fulfill some requests and I looked for your Monica Lawrence at the Chapel View Mausoleum. I looked at all vaults at this mausoleum and could not find Monica Lawrence however there was a Patrick Lawrence Jr 1949-1986 and a Patrick Lawrence Sr 1916-1989 there. It appeared that there was an open area in the same vault space that had no name on it. Is there a possibility that this is where Monica's remains may be without a marker? It may be that she was interred last with no one to insure that the marker was added. Hope this is of some help. Fred King

Hi,

In the 1910 census Houston, Texas, your family and my family are living together. There is a E. Kate Ray married to an M. J. Ray. I am curious if you know the connection, if any.

I just looked at your bio, we live in Merkel just west of Abilene, TX. My husband's father's family is from Graves County, Kentucky and we went up there in July to take pictures of the graveyards. I still have lots of pictures to post on Find-A-Grave.
