RE: Shanabarger
Cherl, I appreciate your looking but don't go to too much trouble for me as I am not related to the Shanabargers. I have an interest in the East Hill Cemetery in Erie, Neosho Co., KS, where he buried his 2nd wife. That is all. I wanted to share the information with the Neosho County Historical Society if I found it.

Thanks for helping!
Anna Bertram

Hello, I didn't see a listing for William in any cemetery in Indiana so far. I'm now going to check my Family tree to see if there is a connection to the last name OHL. Are you also on There is a researcher who has even posted photos of the Shanabarger Family. I'm looking at the overview page right now for a Peter 1810-1886. I did see that a posted a flower for Catherine Ohl Shanabarger, so now lets see if she is in my Family. Do you have access to cemetery records other than what is put on findagrave? I live in Mich., do you live there in Frankfort or nearby? Cheryl I Love to search things out so now I'll look into this new mystery. Cheryl"

Do you know where William Shanabarger (1835 - 1917) was buried? He died in 1917 in Madison, Clinton Co., Indiana. I noticed you left flowers for other Shanabargers in a cemetery in that county. Is it possible William is buried there but no one has made a memorial page for him?

Prindle Book
My Prindle book is available through But I am right in the middle of republishing it. It will most likely take one to two months from today before the new addition is available. It includes Levi Goodwin, brother Apollus Goodwin, and Gilbert Goodwin, and their descendants. It begins with Ephraim Prindle born c.1755 in CT and follows his sons, Zera, Eli, Levi, Asa, James, and Amasa. I take their children and follow them from Clinton County, NY to Winnebago County, IL. As well as MI where Amasa's family went and Jackson County, IA where Asa's family settled. The book contains lots of photos and is fully indexed. I is about 550 pages. My line falls down Levi Goodwin's daughter, Alvira Goodwin who married James Prindle's son, Hiram.
There are several other Goodwin/Prindle marriages in the book. Which line does your husband fall down? You can write to me through the email address on my profile page. Thanks!

Hey Cheryl, I noticed you have the surname Goodwin down as one that you research. May I ask what group of Goodwin's you are searching as I have a line I have been working on also.

RE: Ephraim Prindle
Hi Cheryl, Thanks for the transfer. I don't know where any of the children are buried except for Ross James Prindle, who was buried in Mendon Twp. Cemetery, St. Joseph County, MI. He does have a Find A Grave Memorial. I did not located memorials for any of the other children of Ephraim J. Prindle.

I do have this little interesting tidbit of John Norman Prindle.

The Eau Claire Leader
June 9, 1914
Lightning hits Prindle's Barn
Large Building destroyed
Cattle and Pigs are killed

The electrical storm at about 3:30 to 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon did considerable damage in Eau Claire county. In the town of Union the barn on the farm of John Prindle was struck, the building destroyed, and three head of cattle and two hogs were killed. the storm was accompanied by a high wind. Mr. Prindle carries a partial insurance. Mrs. Prindle who has been quite sick for a couple of years is at present at the Sacred Heart Hospital.

Cheryl yes I am on and I believe I invited you to my tree already. I now remember it was your husband who is related to the Mockerman family down the line.
I understand if he does not want you to transfer the memorial to me on my Great Great Grandpa Jacob.

Thank You,

RE: Childs Family
Susan Casey Childs was the daughter of Dan Casey, who was an older brother of my 2nd great-grandfather. Susan had a son (Frank Davis) by her 1st husband Alden Davis and two sons (Jessa & Roldin Childs) by her 2nd husband Andrew Childs so that is my only connection to the Childs line.
Yes, I do belong to but choose not to publish my family trees on their website due to privacy issues. Charlene

I'm also willing to transfer management of this memorial to you. Just let me know that you want this done!

RE: Rex Family photos
My theory is that if you are related to one person in Fair Haven, you are probably related to most of the others there. Robert Rex, according to Family Tree Maker, is my 4th cousin twice removed. In any case, you are welcome to use the photos in any way you wish. Thanks for the note.

Hi Cheryl,

I found the list of graves that were moved at the Bloomsburg Library - or if might have been at the historical society. I think they both have a copy of it. The list was from the contractor who did the removals. After the contractor died, his son sent the list to them.

My 4th great grandfather, V. Kressler was on the list but I never did find his grave.

Back in contact with you re Martz
Dear Cheryl,

It's been over twenty years since I moved from Indiana. I met you & your mother, probably shortly before I left. One of my Rex ancestors married a Martz, and that is what brought you and me together.

After I moved, family history was put on the back burner for many years. But I'm now back into it.

When I saw your name in Find-a-Grave, I was excited to see that we could be back in touch. I'm trying to find out if Henry had a brother Solomon Martz who married Eliza Kern Rex (her second marriage).

I wrote you a 2-page letter and sent it to the only address I had for you in Wyoming, Michigan. Guess you've moved, because the letter was returned today. I have lots of things to discuss with you.

If I recall correctly, your father is Floyd Abraham Martz, son of James Eli who is the son of Henry & Sarah.

America Winright Mockerman
Regarding the previous message about America Winright Mockerman. There is a Michigan Death Certificate # 14144794 giving her date of death as 19 of Feb 1947 at 5:10 a.m. in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

I don't know why there is so much confusion about her date of death.

I will attach the 2006 copy of the death certificate.

America Winright Mockerman Memorial# 76039752
Hello Cheryl,

Thank you so much for the work you do helping us find information about our relatives.

I was wondering if you could do a correction on the death date for America Winright Mockerman (Find A Grave Memorial# 76039752)?

Her obituary lists her as passing away 14 Nov 1952.

(America's obituary was "published" in the Grand Rapids "Herald" (which later changed to Grand Rapids "Press") on Nov. 16, 1952...Mrs. America Mockerman, aged 84, of 1410 Division Ave., S. passed away early Friday morning at her residence. Surviving are 2 daughters, Mrs. Laura Whittemore & Mrs. Flora Earl, both of G.R.: five sons, Ruben Mockerman of Naubinway, MI., George of Sand Lake, Eugene of Stockton, Cal., Stanley of Byron Center, and Howard of G.R.: 27 grand children. Mrs. Mockerman was taken to the Sullivan Funeral Home where services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment in Morley Cemetery, Morley, MI)

The Find A Grave info is wreaking havoc on my section for America as the 1930 and 1940 Census sections show her as living but Find A Grave is inputting her as deceased at 67. I would love to keep the Find A Grave link with the updated data.

Thank you for all you do.
