Lewis & Lucretia
Hello again:
I noticed that Lewis was linked with Lucretia twice, but one has been merged, I think if you look at his link area you will find both wives, just remove the one I created & it will be gone from him and & think from the data base too; If you link him to both wives & put in marriage dates, they will show up in the correct order
Again, hope this helps.

Lucretia Goble Betts
Thank you so much for the great entry for Lucretia, appreciate the extra info to be added to my family tree.

The obit says that she was born in Prairie...
This should be Prairie Du Chein in Crawford County WI; BUT the 1850 census shows her in Beloit WI with parents. (Good guess-both in WI)

I had entered all the census because I knew nothing more about her; if you wish to delete all or some, please feel free
Don't know if you found a marriage for Lewis & Lucretia--I did in Crawford County WI courthouse...Book 4-283. on 14 Jun 1866; hope this helps some

RE: Harriet Chase? Ashley
Your source may be more accurate than mine. Many of the obits older than 50 years I've found in New York can be wildly inaccurate.

Lucy Tremble
The picture I posted was for what is the only memorial in the pottersfield at Dodge Grove. Pottersfields exist in many cemeteries. It is where the indigent were buried. I have also noticed at Dodge Grove that a number of stillborn or infants seemed to have been buried there as well, tho other family members seem to be in lots. At any rate, I was moved to take and post the pictures because they seemed so poignant to me. You should be aware that many of the Section/Lot numbers posted at findagrave are incorrect for Dodge Grove. It looks to me like a file got sorted incompletely. Lucy Tremble, died 1866, is buried in SEC 1/Pottersfield per the pdf of Dodge Grove burials at this site: There is a 'contact us' link there that lets you email the cemetery secretary Anita Kaufman. She was most helpful to me prior to my recent trip from the Chgo area to Dodge Grove in late March, and might be able to confirm or contradict my info that there is no individual stone for Lucy. While not in the pottersfield, I do have some relatives buried in Dodge Grove that have no headstones (e.g., see Henry and Nancy Wood, Sec 3, Lot 44). Good luck on your research.

Harriet (husband E D Ashley). I made the link of the wife to the husband. Since you are related, would you like to take over management of her memorial. I am not related to her.

Allen Fay Beeching
I would think that this person, who died in 1970 according to the cemetery list, was named after Allen and Fay...

RE: Lula Betts Memorial # 49746331
I'm sorry, but I don't know the answer to your questions. Maybe the "Nez" is her maiden name. The "Betts" could be either a nickname or an alternate spelling. Just guessing.

Lucretia Betts
The obit that is presented for Lula contains 2 grandhcildren...I do not have them as children of John Lewis Betts and Cornelia Austin, do you?
I am wondering if somehow we made a wrong connection.
BTW: I have James, Mae, Alice, JohnH, Grace, George, Frederick, Nellie as the grandchildren of Lucretia
We have Shivers...but that was from census.
Also the NEZ was not explained.
The Betts-Betz is also suspect, there was more than one Lewis Betts in Prairie Du Chein WI

Louis Betts
Stone indeed reads Betts. The person who listed the memorial mispelled it I guess.

Find-a-Grave Posting Dates: 6 Jul 2011

They were my wife Carol's Great-Great Grandparents. Since we only live 10 miles away from the cemetery, we decided to drive there today and find the graves. However, the Cemetery Manager, Craig Hudson, said they had no record of either burial.

We think their records must be in error. I wonder if you can tell us anything more that would help us to locate their graves at Mountain View?

Thank you so much for your time,

Doug and Carol

Martha Lewis Williams
I am the great grand daughter of Martha Lewis Williams and have never seen what she or her daughter, who is my grand mother, look like. I'm not sure if anyone has pictures of either one of them but I would be eternally grateful to see any. I was wondering if zanika has any if she is related in any way.
Thank you

Matilda Jane Williams Reid
I noticed in looking at the page for Matilda Jane Williams Reid that it mentions a potential "calculated" relation to a Martha Lewis Williams Fitzgerald, but I don't have any record or indication of Martha. Can anyone direct me to corroboration or confirmation of this? Thanks! :) Michael (

Hi Teresa,

Could you give me the memorial # for his mother Jessie Jeanette Godfrey Beeching so I can link him?

Thank you for all the information that you provided to make the memorials more complete.

It gives me great satisfaction to know that I might have helped someone find their family so they can fill in some of the blanks to also help others.

Zanika: Let me pick your brain please, do you know where Douglas is buried? It does say that Albert is his brother & he was mentioned in both obits for Grace & Joe.

WOW: Thank you so very much. Thought I would never "find" him. So glad that you took the time and effort to locate his stone. It is really old and worn.

I found her father in Riverside Cemetery but not her mother. I did look up in the archives to see when Mercy died, but it doesn't tell me where she is buried. I did like the father, however.
