RE: Lorna Hall #9627397
Thanks so much for contacting me. Someone in the family had told me awhile back that Lorna had passed away but had no date. I should have known better!

My husband is a cousin of Charles Alvin Smith. I can transfer him to you if you would like. I have deleted Lorna's entry.

RE: 156219190 Leo Duffy
Hi! No problem, I was just letting you know that it created a duplicate memorial for him. When transcribing headstones it will sometimes pop up a memorial that's already made for the person you're working on. For whatever reason it didn't do that this time. You may want to post the pics you took to the older memorial #97895362 and delete the new memorial so there aren't two. I think you should get credit for the pictures you took. :)
Thanks, Kristine

St. Joseph/Old St. Joseph Cemeteries
Good morning,
I am certain we are related.... I went to Iowa City/Johnson County yesterday, went to a reunion and walked cemeteries. I noticed that you have most of the Meade family stones recorded in the St. Joseph's Cemetery in Iowa City recorded as being part of the Old St. Joseph's Cemetery...however, the two cemeteries are separate. Many of our Meade's are actually in Saint Joseph's cemetery, not the Old Saint Joseph's which is around the corner and accessed off Summit drive.

I deleted the memorial page for her and am glad you made a new one with her obituary. Can't believe it has been six years since I found my relatives in that cemetery.

Hi, if you are relatives of Mr. Meade I would be happy to transfer management of Meade memorials to you, my purpose is to acknowledge these memorials and hope others will fill in their interrelationships, I just ask that you identify your relationship to them. Gerry.....

Is what happened, the reason his was not there the night before, when you created yours, but his was the next day. That is changing names & dates and then placing in correct cemetery so therefore it appears as his was created first.

RE: Calvin Crouse
This is my great-great grandfather. Calvin & Christena Crouse, their son, Henry & wife, Mary Catherine Hoylman Crouse, and granddaughter, Christena Crouse Hart, and her two sons, Clifford & Francis Hart, are all buried at Oaklawn Cemetery, Cainsville, Mercer Co, MO as are many more Crouse's. Christena Crouse Hart is my grandmother. I grew up in Mercer Co. I have a lot of information on their large family.

RE: Crouse Family
I have a copy of a program from when Addie Crouse Carroll was named 1956 IL Mother of the Year. It states that Addie Belle married Samuel O Kepley at age 20. He has been her 8th grade teacher and she had been taking care of an invalid mother and four younger children. Left a widow with 3 young children in1903, she lived on a small farm that she purchased with insurance. The oldest daughter outlived her father 6 wks. In Nov 1906, Mrs. Kepley became the wife of Rev E T Carroll, a widower with 5 children- Frank, Ella, Gladys, Stanley & May. Five more children came to the Carroll family. At times there were 15 persons in the household-parents, 12 children & Rev Carroll's mother.

The Rev Carroll passed away in 1933. Mrs Carroll and the two youngest sons moved to Greenville where the family had purchased a home. Here she began a business of earning a living and making a home for her children by doing practical nursing. Later she took care of new babies and their mothers. This she still does with a waiting list thru Aug.

The 11 living children say "We are all one big family. There are no steps and halves. 10 children attended college-5 completed. Ella, Gladys & May have been teachers. Leona still teaches. Others are as follows: Frank, retired major general USAF, Ben, newpaper editor, Paul, advertising manager, Robert & Stanley in the aircraft industry, Don, farmer, Helen, ex-secretary and home maker. Vincent, deceased, was a Greenville business man.

I haven't found where she was buried. Ray Harold Bryant said she died 22 Mar 1973.

I have been working on the Crouse family for over 30 years and have a great deal of information. I helped put together a 100th anniversary reunion of "A Notable Gathering" the 1996 reunion.

Jerry McHenry info
I am descended from the Martin & Susannah Crouse family. My ancestor was one of their 9 Union sons, Calvin, brother of Benjamin, whose daughter was Addie Bell Crouse Carroll, mother of Lucinda Crouse Bryant. I see in Dorothea Bryant McHenry's obituary that her son, Jerry, was deceased. I was wondering if you have any information on Jerry. I have found a couple Jerry McHenry but am not sure they are the correct person.

John Hoffman 77366223
John's mother was his father's first wife - Catherine Mary Nehee Hoffmann NOT Marguerite as shown as a calculated relationship. Catherine was born in April 1831 in Germany and died in 1862 in Pennsylvania. I understand the way to correct this is to go into John's father's memorial and list Marguerite as his 2ND wife (there is no Find A Grave memorial for Catherine because it is unknown where she is buried). ALL THREE CHILDREN WERE CATHERINE'S. Note the birth year of the last one is the same as her death year as she died during childbirth.

(Find A Grave help says the above has to be done by the memorial's manager)

Optionally, you could create a memorial for Catherine and then link if you know how to create one without listing a cemetery (I tried to figure it out to no avail)

Thanks for your help - Cindy (None to be Forgotten)
