Lydia would have been Sheila's Great-Grandmother.
This is the direct lineage by my research: John Jones~William Jones & Abigail Mills~Lydia A. Jones~Edwinna Lane Kempher~Gerald Kempher~Sheila Kempher. Sorry about the mis-information posted on my earlier post.

Hi Amanda, while working on some family history I came across the memorial for Sheila Ann Kempher noted in River Ridge Cemetery in Ionio County. The message you left under her headstone image states that she was your Grandmother ~ is that correct? There is another person buried in that same cemetery who I am related to ~ Lydia Kempher who I believe to be Sheila's mother!! I don't know much about the family itself and this was a very recent discovery so would love to talk with you to see if you know anything more about the family tree. I have requested to have Lydia's memorial transferred to me so her story can be written and she be linked to her parents but I have not heard from the gentleman who created it. Lydia was one of the several siblings born to my GGG-Grandfather, David Bernat Jones (see the memorial that I created for him). I can follow Lydia and her parents and siblings for many years in the census records and the occasion marriage record but there are plenty of gaps in the information to fill in. By looking at David Jones's memorial you will see the names of his parents and the other siblings who have been researched and linked to together. It would be wonderful to share information with you on this family! Warmly, Helen

RE: Burke Cemetery
Hi Amanda:

I assumed you were probably related to the Sheets from Sumner. I personally did not know them, I think my Mom did. My Mom would point to a farm house and say "that's the old Sheets farm". The farm was straight west out of Sumner about one mile.

What year was your Dad born? I went to Sumner school from 1949-1954. I went to a country school before that. (it burned down)

One of my classmates from Sumner was Barbara Wisniewski. She had an older brother Joe. They lived close to the Sheets farm. I can't remember the name of the road, we used to call it the Riverdale road.

I use to know alot of people from Sumner and now I go to the Sumner cemetery and read their names.

I live east of the Fulton Schools about 1 1/2 miles. Carole

RE: Burke Cemetery
Hi Amanda:

Yes, I have several relatives at Burke, the Toppers and the Shinabargars. I have relatives at New Haven, Sumner and Crystal cemeteries. I was raised on a farm about 3 1/2 miles from Sumner. (about 6-7 miles east of Crystal) I went to grade school at Sumner. Carole

RE: Burke Cemetery
Hi Amanda, Yes,at first I was rather confused with your comments about a lengthy list of changes/corrections in your 1st message.

Being a member you should have been well aware according to the rules that "SAC" is for suggesting changes/corrections or adding info. Wanting to send a person a long list by e-mail of many changes would have been inappropriate. I was still willing to co-operate.

I do not have a problem making changes/corrections. If you have photos and would like to add them, go ahead. Carole

RE: Burke Cemetery
Hi Amanda, you say you have a "lengthy" list of my errors. Send me the list by public message and I will check it out. I make it a practice not to give out my private e-mail address. Carole

Remember Those Who Have Passed
RE: Lorenzo Herrington
Lorenzo is the long version of Loren, I was looking for Loren Herrington and ran across Lorenzo's grave and requested a photo of his headstone in hopes of getting birth and death dates. I do not know anything about Lorenzo, as he turned out not to be my Herrington roots. sorry.
