RE: Elizabeth DeWitt Penrod
Carolyn, There is no record that he is buried there with his wife, I wish there was. It's always sad when we can find no record of where they are. If he was buried there the Cemetery Records don't show it. Sorry. Luella

I had been notified of the memorial in Crown Hill also. I changed the links that I could and requested the memorial in Crown Hill be linked to Lena and his parents. I will watch for that to happen and when it does, I will remove the link to his parents on the Martinsburg memorial and delete it.

Peter Tyson buried by himself--his wife is with her family
There were no dates or other names on Peter Tyson's tombstone--his wife is buried in Blair, but with her parents.

Tyson graves in Blair
In the grave marked #7 for "Aron" (1843-1878) there is a Marshall (1843-1878) instead. Marshall was a Civil War Veteran. Possibly the Marshall was a middle name that he went by, (Aron Marshall Tyson)but certainly that is the name on the stone, and the location is definitely #7 in that block. We not only took the photo but also are making a suggestion for the GPS, which means you can click on it, zoom in, change to picture mode on the map, and "see" tiny tombstones.

Hi Carolyn,

I wanted to let you know that I have posted Heber's headstone picture on his find-a-grave page. Also, the information that he is buried at Franklin Cemetery is in error. He is actually buried with his parents, Thomas Newton Morris & Sarah Jane Trueblood Morris at Crown Hill Cemetery in Salem, IN. I hope this helps you a little.

RE: Mary Elizabeth Headrick Simerly
Hi, Carolyn

You're welcome. Are you related to Mary Elizabeth Headrick Simerly, or Mary Elizabeth Simerly that married Samuel H. Keller, if you don't mind my asking?

Mary Elizabeth Simerly
Correction: I meant to say that Mary Elizabeth Simerly's mother was NANCY Jane Tefeteller, not Mary Jane! Too many "Marys" to deal with! LOL!

Sorry about that.

Mary Elizabeth Headrick Simerly
Hi, Carolyn

In answer to your question, no, this Mary E. Headrick Simerly married my 1st cousin (3x), James Alexander Simerly, on Jan.31, 1885 in Blount County.

Now, the Mary Elizabeth Simerly that married Samuel H. Keller on December Dec.28,1887 in Blount County was also my 1st cousin (3x). She was the daughter of James Edgar "Hook" Simerly and Mary Jane Teffeteller. I haven't been able to find a date of death for her, nor a place of burial, but Samuel is buried in Old Piney Grove Cemetery in Blount County, memorial # 101136813.

RE: Beard Cemetery, Carroll Co., IN
If you have a GPS the coordinates are:
40.46320, -86.62454

Take US421/SR39 to W550S in Carrol County - go East on W550S until you see the Yellow Beard Cemetery Sign (there should be a gate by the sign)

Now you have 1 of 2 options. You have to go off road. So you can walk it, or you can drive to it if the ground is solid. (I drove a Chevy Colbalt around to it, so it is dueable)

Just follow around the edge of the woods and about a 1/4 of a mile, you will see the cemetery gate.

I hope this helps you out, thanks for the message.

RE: Lewis Gass

All three of the Gass men already have pictures that are posted on Find A Grave memorials. The cemetery office has it in their system that none of the men have memorials on their plots. I went into the office at Crown Hill to complain to them about their records not being right and they said that was probably because the records have not been updated. I told her that there definately were memorials on the Lewis Gass men. I don't know if she will change this in the records or not but I at least informed her of this.
