|Fred/Kathy||Johnston or Johnson|
Hi conserning your request for a photo of the grave marker for Hester JOHNSTON
I see there is a memorial listing in Evergreen cemetery for a Hester JOHNSON with the same date of death - I located and photographed a marker for John Johnston with the correct date but so far have not located a marker for Hester Johnston or Hester Johnson
which spelling should I look for ??

Buried next to Margaret Dalene Carter (1872-1936). No memorial was found. IIf you plan to create a memorial, please send me the memorial page number so I can post the headstone photo. Thanks for your help.
According to cemetery records date of death was May 3, 1936. Plot information: Sunrise Slope, Lot 5251, Space 3.

You are welcome. The cemetery is marked wrong, they are buried behind the church in East Magnolia Cemetery. I have quite a few family buried there as well.

I was unable to find a Mildred Smith. Everett's stone is next to his son and grandchildren and several other Smith graves. Sorry I couldn't find her. Posted pictures for his son and other family members.

you are welcome. sadly, a number of stones there are mostly buried so i unearth them a bit at a time, let the rain clean them and return to unearth some more.

Happy to help out. I used to be the research aide for the Whatcom Genealogical Society. I saved all of the obits I had collected and am in the process of posting them all on Find-A-Grave. And, I had already planned to visit Bayview this morning - just happened to check to see if any new requests had been posted before I headed over there.

My son-in-law I went to the cemetery this Sunday to try to photo the stone. We were not successful despite bringing along some hedge trimmers to cut away vines and small trees.
As you see in this link,
the cemetery has fallen on hard times and only gotten worse in the last 6 years. I have been there before as it is less than 2 miles from my house.
It is not a large area - about 40 feet by perhaps
120 but the overgrowth and vandalism is ongoing.
I thought finding a stone from 1890 would be
straight forward but we did not find it.
There is a book by Peter Krell, So all may be remembered, which is a record of all cemeteries in Clarkstown in 1989. I will consult it to see if I can gain any clues later this week.
