Yes, Vikki. I am related to all the Griffins at Pinewood Cemetery. Thank you for being so thoughtful. I sent an email to you about this memory. Please let me hear back from you.

|Ed Hightower||Old White Pond Cemetery|
We have been able to remove/transfer all the graves from White Pond Barnwell to Old White Pond Aiken except for one. Since the volunteer in question very likely is not interested I am planning to ask Find A Grave to make the transfer.
Please check your memorial at Old White Pond for Dudley Glisson. I believe when the Find A Grave volunteer moved their Memorial under that same name to Old White Pond Aiken it created duplication.
May I suggest you consider deleting your memorial to Dudley Glisson but using your picture on the one which will remain?
Thank you again for your cooperation in getting these two cemeteries together. We are just about done.

Thank you very much for the transfers. I have updated them at Old White Pond and eliminated the ones I could at White Pond.

|Ed Hightower||RE: White pond cemetery...|
I really appreciate your cooperation. My goal is this case is not to adopt memorials but rather eliminate the duplication which currently exists between White Pond and Old White Pond. Your work at Old White Pond should be the Find A Grave cemetery which continues to exist. The White Pond Cemetery in my opinion should slowly by surely be eliminated.
My connections in this area are with the Hightowers, Felders, Careys, Hitts and Rountrees.
I will request the transfers using the Find A Grave Edit key. Whenever you transfer a name which has been duplicated between the two cemeteries I will eliminate that name at White Pond.
Thanks again for your cooperation. You should begin to receive transfer requests later today.
Enjoy your Find A Grave work.

|Ed Hightower||White Pond and Old White Pond|
Good morning Vikki
My name is Ed Hightower. As you can see on Find A Grave I have been a volunteer for about four years now.
During 2013 and working with a close friend and fellow Hightower researcher I was supplied with photos my friend had made at what he referred to as the White Pond Cemetery in Barnwell County, S.C. He grew up in that same County.
Apparently he forgot or omitted to tell me White Pond Cemetery and perhaps Old White Pond Cemetery are one in the same or right next to one another. Not having been there myself I do not know which.
Well today it is clear that White Pond or Old White Pond now lies in Aiken and not as originally in Barnwell. So as you will see when checking Find A Grave we have duplicated some graves which are most likely in a common cemetery.
Before asking Find A Grave to merge this data from their HQ perhaps we can work this out between the two of us and others who have posted at White Pond. There are a maximum of 20 graves to deal with.
My initial suggestion between the two of us is as follows. I will delete the five Hightower graves and one Rountree grave I created in 2013 at White Pond Barnwell if you will transfer those same graves posted by you in 2014 at Old White Pond in Aiken to me. The six graves in question are a part of my direct family tree. Afterwards we can ask others who have posted at White Pond Barnwell to follow a similar pattern. The goal being to eventually eliminate White Pond in Barnwell and have all graves properly posted at Old White Pond Aiken.
Let me know how you would like to proceed.

I am so pleased that you were able to locate this tiny family cemetery. Information from the genealogical records in Sumter say "There were 16 children in this family..." Just imagine how many descendants are giving thanks for you today!! Include me in those, Vikki!!!

Wife of Wm. H Linam was what I was looking for on her headstone photo, # 60442142. I meant to send you a message about that.

I am still trying to link the Linams/Lynams.
Please look at your photo and see if this could possibly be the wife of Wm. H Linam instead of Wm L Linam. It fits with one of William H. Linam's wives.
The cemetery list you sent me has been most helpful.

|Alice||Photos for Francis/Frances Compton|
WOW! You are fast! Thanks for ALL of the great photos!!! So clear and good! Well, it does not read wife of C R and I can plainly see wife of C W...However, her name was spelled Francis and not Frances...and her death date is the same as on trees on Ancestry have for the wife of Charles R. Compton. Since C. R. Compton died in 1863...I like to think that his middle intial may have been a mistake in 1906. Nevertheless, this is a great old headstone that you have recorded for Find A Grave in detail.
I hope that you will continue photographing the old ones that have not been recorded on Find A Grave in that cemetery. So many of the memorials I viewed in the Bethel B.Ch.Cem. and around Sumter had/have no photos of headstones. The quality of your photos is so good.
Thanks for all your work and effort in doing for others on Find A Grave. I really appreciate your help.

I have her Find A Grave # 132534179 and if it is not too much trouble, I would love to have a pic of her headstone. Yes, I have tried Ancestry and there is nothing there for her from Find A Grave. Her husband, Charles R. Compton is probably buried there in Bethel in an unmarked grave. He died some 40 years before she did.
Thanks Vikki! Your help will be greatly appreciated.

|Alice||Thomas M. Linam or Lyman|
Do you know who his parents where? My 3rd g granmother was Mary Matilda Linam/Lynam Compton, born in Sumter District. She is on Find A Grave and buried in Wilcox County AL. Her parents were M. Morris Linam and Mary Cain Jones Linam. William Morris Lyman, their son, has a lovely headstone that was placed in the Cain Cemetery by his son. # 59762951 His son, William H. Linam/Lynam died in Wilcox County AL, too.
I have a request for a Frances Compton, died 1906, and buried in the Bethel Baptist Church Cem., Sumter County. I read your profile and wondered if you are far from there. I would love to have a photo of her headstone. Her memorial reads, wife of CW Compton, but think it was C.R. Compton. I would really like to know. Charles R. Compton would have been my gg uncle and Frances, his wife. I could never find any Find A Grave memorials for my Compton ancestors in Sumter. Or the parents or my ggg grandmotherLiman/Lynam either. Thanks for all the work you have done of Find A Grave.
