Hello, I'm hoping you can help me. My grandfather was born in Bellevue, PA in 1917. On his mother's death bed, she told him that his biological father was a family friend by the name McGaughey. I have pinpointed a man named Harry Alexander McGaughey. I have done my DNA and match many of the families that I have found him to be related to. Are you related to this man? Was he the son of Elizabeth A Mcgaughey? Thank you

RE: Birthplace of Mary Randolph Chandler
Hi David - that piece of information was sent to me by Julie Grabill Rasmussen, who does a lot of research in that area. It came from the Audubon County Death Record, Book 2, page 35: "Father was Richard J. Chandler, born New Jersey; Mother was Mary Randolph, born in West Virginia; Surviving Spouse was Lydia Chandler. Lydia died 6 Jan 1945 in Carroll, IA."

Hope that helps! LG

RE: Chandler
OK. I know those old obits are usually cut out and no reference is given to the newspaper. I just thought I would check with you. I found a lot of obits in the Derrick. I'm glad Pa is finally getting more info online.

I added the obit....thanks! Do you happen to know the source of the newspaper?

RE: George Basore
I deleted mine. Not sure how I missed that, I usually try to catch that before adding. Thanks!

RE: Elizabeth Gray Travis
I got it from this site:

It lists:
Children of Mary and William TRAVERS are:
i. John TRAVIS was born 10 NOV 1766, and died 23 APR 1829 in Franklin Twp,Huntingdon,Pennsylvania. He married Elizabeth GREY. She was born 1780, and died 28 JAN 1856.

"No," I wish I knew where William Travers and Mary (Unknown) were buried.

Jane Travis m. Joseph Wadding, and George Travis m. Margaret Johnson Timblin, and William Travis b. 10-27-1774, and others are siblings to John Travis.

The Wadding/Shepherd/Bell line out of IA is my husband's line.

Thank you for the information. I updated the memorial with the information you sent me. I also entered a middle initial of A I Found on I could not find a birthday or date of death. I have transferred to you, as you are family. You can update any other information you may find on her.

RE: Vera Minerva McCaig Langley
No, I am not related. I was at Ferndale Cemetery taking photos of my gr-grandparents Glassel)and photographed other monuments near them and then walked around just snapping photos. Would you like these transferred to you?

RE: Evelyn Joy Vernon
Hi. Thanks for the burial location for Aubry and Edna. I had not located them although someone in Delta thought that Aubry was buried there.

But now there is an additional question of the identity of George "Red" Vernon who is buried in Montrose. Do you know who that is?
Thank you for any additional help.

RE: Stopp Family - Karen Martin
My grandfather was George Dewalt Stopp from Beaver Falls. He was murdered at work in 1970. His father was Charles.McClelland Stopp which is where everything breaks down. I know.that Charles was a barber in the Lawrenceville section of Pittsburgh, married my great grandmother, my grandfather was born and suddenly Charles was married to another woman with a daughter. I did find Charles lived with an Ora and Henry Bigley in Pittsburgh. I researched Ora Bigley and found one was buried in Clarion county and there was a copy of a Pittsburgh Press article stating Ora had hung herself and the address listed was Lawrenceville. My instincts want to say Ora was his mother but I can't confirm or deny with a free ancestry account :)

Stopp Family
Hi there. I noticed that you are an administrator for a Stopps in Clarion County. I am from Beaver County and my maiden name was Stopp. From doing online research on the family I have noticed that there is a Karen Martin who has done extensive research on the family. Do you know how I can get in contact with her? Thank you!

RE: Flicks
I have connected him to his parents. I was somewhat confused by seeing his listing twice. I see another person had created his memorial without knowing his burial location, #96413476, listing it as unknown since 9.2.2012. No memorial should be listed as unknown for more than 30 days according to Find A Grave. (Location of body unknown should be used for recent deaths where the disposition is not currently known. Final disposition should be determined and updated within 30 days.)If you know who created the memorial from 2012, you may want to let them know.

Thanks, Dave! I never got back to finishing that project. Caspar is my 5th great grandpa, too. The smallest gravestone on his Curllsville grave I bought 3 years ago not knowing the DAR added the one above! I hadn't been back there for a few years! I wish I had looked! Too bad the cemetery records are gone, as I suspect Elizabeth is buried right beside him, as there is plenty of room, but can't prove it. I lived in Clarion Co, too, as a kid. Email me if you find anything new please - .
