RE: Charles C Bruce & Family
Hi Kala,
I've been going through old newspapers at the historical association (where I volunteer) to create an index of obituaries and death notices for researchers. When I find the person on, I often post the death notice. When you asked about Charles Bruce, I noticed that I have posted notices for 3 Bruces at Spring Vale. I really don't know anything about the family, but now I'm interested! Do you live in the area? We have lots of resources at the Tippecanoe County Historical Association. I'm sure you could find information there.

Beard Line
Can you ask your mother what information she has on the Beard Line, how are you related to John Beard? I believe Johns father was a David Beard of Hagerstown, Md. What I am trying to find is information about him. There were several David Beards in Hagerstown. I have added information to the bio of Susanna Leisure Beard--wife of Henry clay--son of John. I would be glad to share any information I have with you. I am really interested in finding information on John Beards father, right now I am at a dead end. The further back you go in time, the less information there is---unless some one has written a book and kept records.

RE: Beard transfers
Photos on Susanna Leisure Beard---John and Susanna are my great great grandfather and grandmother--I right clicked the tombstone photos as they are buried together. If you look at the photos of Henry Clay--John and Susanna's son, these are family photos. You are welcome to copy any oh my photos---just right click on them. I am looking for information on John and Susanna(Leisure)Beard. I know the were married in Hagerstown, Maryland. Read the bio. I am trying to figure out why and how long they were in Maryland, and who the parents of John Beard were. Any information wouold really be appreciated. Thanks, Bob in Boise

Picture of Harriet B. Robertson's Gravestone

Are you related to John Coblentz, Sr. (b.28 March 1825; m. " to Mary Jane Robertson; d. January 1916)? I believe Harriet B. Robertson is a sister of Isaac VanDoran Robertson, Mary Jane's father. I am related to Isaac's brother, Ezra Robertson (my maternal grandmother's great-grandfather). Their father was Ephriam Robertson who is also buried in Dry Fork Cemetery.
