Have been looking for Lassiter's but not much luck as of now. Will contact you if any info is found that would help you. Sincerely Ben

RE: McCains (Boerne)
You are very welcome! Now that I have retired, I walk the cemetery, take pictures and add them if they are not there.

Jordan is near where my wife is buried. I can transfer the McCain's to you. Just click on the 'Transfer Management' at the top and I'll get an EMAIL and will then transfer it to you since I added those.

Let me know if you need anything.

Mark

Morgan Tarpley Smith
Hi again
I just read the post before my message on your board. So this William Legrand was the son of Jared Tarpley? Do you know if he had a brother named James Marcus Tarpley? How much research have you been able to do? I'm currently trying to prove if I'm kin to Jared Tarpley or another Tarpley man from Tennessee. I'd love to know anything you do about Jared Tarpley and William Legrand.

RE: Jared Tarpley etc.
Hi EmilyB,

These names are not familiar to me. Where did they live? Louisiana? Catahoula Parish? Do you know? I'll try to help if I can. Sorry if I can't.

This is all I have ... not really researching him ... hope it helps some:

William Legrand Tarpley
born abt 1829 GA
believed to have died bef 1880

Relatives: Jared J Tarpley, Father; Margaret P Brown, Mother

1830 United States Federal Census ... Home in 1830: , Monroe, Georgia

1840 United States Federal Census ... Home in 1840: County: Macon State: Alabama

1850 United States Federal Census ... Home in 1850: Eastern Division, Chickasaw, Mississippi

1871 ... abt Age: 42 ... aproximate ... Marriage to Emily "Emma" V Brownlee ... Chickasaw, Mississippi, USA Marriage probably in Chickasaw ... marriage probably a 2nd marriage for W L Tarpley.

bef 1880 ... abt Age: 51 Death ... Emily "Emma" is noted as widowed on 1880 census

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Civil War Muster Roll Card ... Enlisted 24 JUL 1862 Coffeeville for a period of 3 yrs. Discharged DEC 1862. Note: According to his wife's gravemarker in Frost, Navarro, TX 1907 she was "wife of W L Tarpley". This Confederate Civil War Record is probably Emma's husband. They were married abt 1871 and by the time of the 1880 census he does not appear to be with her anymore.
[Transcription from ancestry.com] Probate Record ... mentions children of "her half brother Legrand Tarpley late of Mississippi" ... his children are noted as Mrs. Roebuck, Mrs. Mitchell and Willis Tarpley. Likely these childrren are a first marriage for William Legrand Tarpley and Emily aka 'Emma" Brownlee was a second marriage.
