RE: Benjamin RD Spurlock
Wonderful! Have you run into one for his brother, Lindsey D Spurlock? (MD was a cousin and we always get notes for him instead.)

Lindsey (1822) was son of John Spurlock and brother of Rev. Percival Spurlock and Benjamin RD. Lindsey was born in Old Richmond before the family of John moved to Illinois in about 1838.

Lindsey married Rhoda Ann Booton (dau. of Fanny Spurlock.)They took their family on to Iowa (about 1852) where my ggrandfather, John William was born. They separated in their later years and went to live with their children. Lindsey had been a rancher/farmer but took up ministry (possibly the 'new' Adventist calling.)

We know Rhoda died in 1875 in Keokuk, Iowa and is buried in Sandusky Cemetery, Keokuk, Lee County, Iowa from family documents. But we were told Lindsey went on to stay with his daughter and died in 1909 just after his daughter's death. No records have him listed. We can not get into some from IL. Some of the family stayed there.

Dean may have been our Lindsey's middle name, too. Their mother was Mary "Polly" Dean (or Deane).

Any clues may prove helpful. Thanks!

Thanks for the information. Where did you find the Russel Dean part of his name?

Are you related?

As long as you give credit, we are fine with your request to use the pics. You are a known party to us.

Recently experienced a person who altered a photo and removed the copyright via photoshop or a similar program.

We have gone to imbedding.
Just a suggestion.

Best regards,
PS---my email to you was rejected.

Henry Bell Thurman
Tom and Nancy, Thanks for taking the time to search out and photograph the tombstone of Henry Bell Thurman, whose mortal remains were laid in the West Midway Cemetery near London Mills in Fulton County, Illinois. It is a GREAT addition to his site and is GREATLY APPRECIATED. Thanks, too, for all you have done for me and Find A Grave in the past and for all you will yet do. What we are doing, I believe, will be appreciated by many long after we are gone. THANKS again for all you have done for me!! Sincerely, Baxter

Regarding Find A Grave Pic #20352824--works for me. Thank you for understanding. We go to great expense and the legal issues with pirating are incredible. I would invite you to contact both Find A Grave and about that. Both have been very good as a rule about removing them and sanctioning the pirates.

I would really, really like to know more about your Thurman line as my husband is a Thurman descendent.

This information could have been sent to me and I would have gladly entered it. I took the photo and entered the memorial in 2008.

There are certain guidelines and I try to follow them. I believe the maker of the duplicate memorial is the one that should be informed.

Thanks for all of your work.

I checked this memorial and indeed it is a duplicate, but not mine. I entered the memorial November 8, 2008 and the duplicate was added:

Created by: Dana Meeks
Record added: Jul 04, 2011
Find A Grave Memorial# 72671188

I would be happy to add the additional information to the memorial I created and wondered if you would mind taking my photo off the duplicate.

Thanks for all the work you both is appreciated ... I do like the additional information! cj.... I am cj not CJ...there is another CJ. Thanks!

Mary Ellen Walter
Thanks for the heads up..I was unsure what to do, so I added a note in Mary's bio in the Maquon Cemetery memorial. Perhaps another note should be placed in the bio in the Housh Walter Sumner Cemetery. If you know of a better way, let me know and I will be glad to comply.

RE: David Burkhalter
I sent the memorial owner some SAC to see if he can fix them.

RE: David Burkhalter
Yes I am aware and have already talked to the person that requested photos of the Burkhalters. The person that made the memorials has the dates mixed up. I hope he gets in contact with him to have them fixed.

Mary and David are in Section 3 and Savina and David are in Section 7. I was just there yesterday.

I've transferred her for you:) I didn't have any other Halls from that cemetery. There are still some that are undocumented. I'm hoping to get down there later this year. If I find more, I'll let you know:)
