Joseph and Susanna (Schmitt) Wetor
Hi Nancy! Joseph and Susanna (Schmitt) Wetor (memorials 30056939 and 30056945) are my wife's 3rd great grandparents. I notice you provided the portraits of Joseph and Susanna that appear in those memorials. Would you be able to tell me where those portraits are from?

Thank you,

RE: teresa russell mount carmel.
I sent an email query to the Archdiocese of Chicago to see if they can help locating the proper Mount Carmel Cemetery.
The more I look at the location, Mount Carmel in Hillside uses a different identifier. They are located by Section then Block then Lot and then grave. Hopefully they will be able to help.

Did I ever talk to you about sending over obituaries? I have 2 O'Grady's at home that I pulled on my computer and cannot figure out if I sent them to you or not... if you are interested, please email me and I can get them to you. If I already did this, I appologize because my insomnia can make me scatter-brained at times!

Mary Elizabeth Ince
Hello Nancy,

My name is Peggy Philipp and I am the president of the Calvary Cemetery Restoration Committee, a local group of relatives of family members who are buried in this cemetery. We have been organized and operating since 1996 and are committed to maintaining and restoring this cemetery's grounds.

I have noticed that you have added information about burials in Calvary Cemetery to the Find A Grave website.

I do not have internet (I am borrowing someone else's for this e-mail), so I am not signed up on the website.

The reason that I am writing to you is that our organization is having an obelisk made, on which the names of those buried in Calvary (to the best of our knowledge, based on the compilation of records from several different sources) will be written, and some of the information that you have added to the Find A Grave website is new or different from the information that we have.

Since I am borrowing someone else's internet for this (I was hoping that there would be a telephone number listed for you on the website, but I didn't find one), I don't want to put them in the middle of an e-mail discussion, and questions are best answered over the telephone anyway, so could you please telephone me so that I can compare this information with you? We have already submitted the names to the engraver, and if we need to add or change any, I need to contact them ASAP!

My cell phone would be the best number to reach me at. It is 612-849-3485. No time is too early in the morning, and no time is too late in the evening.

Thank you!

Peggy Philipp

Mason's in St. Patrick's
Hi Nancy,

I stopped by St. Patrick's today to check out the Mason's and Hines'. The Mason Family plot just has Robert and Walter/Mabel resting there. Mabel's side of the stone is still uncut.

It started to rain today so I will search for George and Alice more when I go find the Culey/Hines gravesite on a nicer day.

Hello Nancy,

When there are duplicate memorials; its usually the memorial created the earliest that remains (unless it was created by family).

Mine memorial was created August 2008; the other was created April 2009. That member is no longer active; you may want to send an email to to have the duplicate memorial removed:

Edits for the Berkeley Springs Area
Nancy...thank you so much for all the edits you ar submitting for my memorials around Berkeley Springs. I love having my memorials with as much detail as possible and you are adding so much valuable information. I joke that I'm trying to prove that everyone in the area are related to everyone else. Any additional information I can get helps in my research of the families of the area.

I did canvas Calvary Cemetery however, some really old monuments were unreadable and didn't get photographed. It's possible the people you are seeking have monuments that I was not able to read.

Mary Ann Burns
Hi Nancy,

I was trying to research the sister of my 2nd great-grandfather (Thomas Murray). Her name was Mary Ann Murray and she married Thomas Burns. I just found the gravestone, Mary Ann Burns buried in Lawler. I'm wondering if this could be Thomas Murray's sister? I don't see that she is buried with her husband, Thomas Burns. I know many of my Murray family are buried in Mt. Carmel.

I was wondering if you might be able to tell me which family she is buried next to or around in Mt. Carmel? Her parents would have been Thomas and Mary Ann Kane-Murray. Also wondering if she might have any children buried next to her or around her?

I'm hoping you will be able to help me, this is a hard family to track down! Thanks, Sue Oliver

Michael Hayes
I did not find the grave marker for Michael. But I did find a marker for Ellen Daly Hayes. This was at a large family marker with only Ellen, Dennis and lots of extra space.

I took lots of photos of all Hayes in this cemetery and I would send them to you to use however you want, but I will need your private email to do this. My email address is:

This cemetery is just five miles from my home, but this is the first time I've been to St. Isadore's cemetery. I was very surprised by the large amount of Irish in this cemetery, as I thought most Irish settled closer to Lake Winnabago(Brothertown and Stockbridge). Since the early years of settlement, it is now quite German.

Michael Hayes at St. Isidore cemetery, Manitowoc Co. Wisconsin
Hello Nancy:

I'm sending you the link to the records of St. Isidore cemetery in the town of Meeme, Manitowoc County, Wisconsin where you have many Hayes relatives. I'm not finding the entry for Michael. I thought perhaps if you looked at it, you may be able to figure out if he's in there under a different first name or if perhaps the dates you have are off. I see everyone there except him and his son Alban.

See here (scroll down to the "Hayes" listings) -

Re Teresa Russell
I'm still not having any luck finding Teresa. There are no "Teresa" Russells listed in the Illinois Death Index and only 2 "Theresa" listed, one in 1923 and the other in 1933. Do you have any other information on her? Parents? Siblings? Also, what is the source of the info that you posted on her memorial? We know for sure that the grave info for her is incorrect if she is buried at MC in Hillside and the office there has confimed that there is no special section for nuns there that the information might be referring to.
