RE: Elijah Hitchcock

You are most welcome to use the photo of Elijah Hitchcock's grave. I'd appreciate a photo credit.

Elijah is also my 5th great-grandfather via his son Jared, so your friend and I are cousins!

RE: William Vogelsang
A listing from the 2000 Monmouth County Veterans burial list. Did you check directly yourself with the office, or the photo volunteer say that?

Yes!! That's great. His name was pronounced that way so it seems he just started spelling it that way. Thanks so much!

Hazel Pendleton
Deborah, I see where Alexis posted the headstone of the Lufkins on Hazel's memorial. That headstone was directly next to Trevett. I gather Hazel was related to the Lufkins. Sorry I caused any confusion. Pat

Hazel Pendleton
The lot where Hazel is suppose to be buried has a headstone with the name Trevett. Does this make sense and do you want me to post it on Hazel's memorial page?

RE: POW graves
There is really not a reason. I was working on a project with a lady from Wyoming about POW buried first in Camp Douglas in Wyoming and then interred in Ft. Riley Post Cemetery. I already had all the POW interred in Ft. Riley listed with photos. That pointed me to a list to the International Red Cross dated in the late 40s with all the POW that were interred in the US. The German data base is very good and I am going slowly through it to check everybody. Most were already listed and had photos, so I decided to ask for the ones who don't have photos.

Lieut Robert F Massie
Find A Grave Memorial# 63845919

Thanks for the photos. Guess it must have been pretty easy to spot among all the others, eh? :)

I ran across the story of Massie and the E.A.Poe story, found his memorial here on Find A Grave and thought it was a little odd no one had entered any photos for his memorial. So thought I would put in the request. Thanks for getting over there.

Baby Massey
Thank you so much for getting that headstone picture for me.
It is for a co worker. He said his mom and dad planned on making a trip there after they retired. But as things sometimes happen, Phyllis got sick first and passed away and Richard was not far behind.
So they were never able to get there.
They had two more children, and raised several foster children. They loved children.
So thanks again.........i am sure they will be tickled to have the photo.
