RE: Carrie Belle
Yes, I did the same thing & found both adoption records that in turn led me to Redding. I had to go to bed so that ended my search last night. I'm. pleased that you went much further and found out more. I agree that they likely never knew who her mother and father were. Thanks for sharing her story. ~ Jan

RE: Thoger Jensen
I have encountered that with my own family. Looking at the site again the best choice for Thoger is Denmark, Midtjylland, Randers.

Thanks,
Sam

Thoger Jensen
Thoger Jensen, my wife's great-grandfather, was not born in Hjorring, but in Tvilum, Gjern, Skanderborg, Denmark.

My side of the family is from Hjorring but my wife's is from Skanderborg.

Thank you, Rebecca, for posting the obit for Charles on his memorial page. I only had his year of death, and so could not find his obit, but now I have that plus so much more!

RE: Clarence Knox at Acacia
I certainly did not mean to offend you! I simply responded to your question about posting other documents, including marriage certificates, as photos.

I have followed Find A Grave policies and try to get as much information that is pertinent to the purpose of this website into my memorials, including photos of the memorialized and their gravesite. I also accept from 10-20 edits for my memorials each day and always check additions for accuracy, and credit those who provide information as I have done on this memorial. You will always be welcome to send edits and connections for any of my memorials and I will continue to do the same.

Keep up your good work on Find A Grave.
Stephen

Sergeant Lemuel R. Elliott, Co. D, 86th Illinois
Rebecca, After I sent my last email, I looked at it and saw the picture of me standing there in the museum here in Peoria. I'm wearing my frock coat. He would have been wearing a kepi like mine about this time as well. Thanks again!! Baxter

Baxter B. Fite III
Sergeant Lemuel R. Elliott, Co. D, 86th Illinois
Rebecca, Thanks for the additional information. I have added it to his site. The duplicate memorial you are talking about is actually one of the infant children born to Lemuel R. Elliott and Thankful C. (Jacobs) Elliott. I don't know where the information came from, but, Lemuel apparently did have two children who died young. This is apparently one of them.
Also, what a GREAT picture!! I'd like to know where the original is, but, I am more than THRILLED to have this one now of his site. THANKS!!! He's wearing his frock coat, so the picture has to be an early one, probably taken late in 1862 or early in 1863. By mid 1863, we start to see the 86th wearing their sack coats. Thanks again!! WHAT A GREAT ADDITION TO HIS SITE!! Sincerely, Baxter

Thanks Rebecca for the additional information about Lemuel. I have added it along with some other information. Please check it out and let me know if you can help with any other information. There also must be pictures of Lemuel out there, if not in uniform, then as an older man. Any ideas? Thanks again for your help. Sincerely, Baxter

Hi Rebecca, I couldn't tell from the email, can you tell me what the original edit was? It doesn't tell me. Also, do you wish a transfer? Linda

Yes, I believe that is correct.
I think I tried to make his uncle his father.

Jacob O 1838 was the son of Buckley Carl (who I can't find)
Jacob O 1840 was the son of Benjamin I

And both Buckley and Benjamin were sons of another Jacob born ~1764. And Jacob 1764 also had a son named Jacob Osborn. Must have been a good family name

Thanks for catching that mistake
